Procedures for 4/20/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/20/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to describe their facial features.  2) Students will be able to gain culture knowledge about Chinese language and Chinese traditional sport: taichi.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Body Parts handout.  2) Makeup work (PPT draft: Jack, Claire, Josh, Darian).
  2. 1) Quick review (眼, 睛, 耳, 朵, 鼻子) with terms (眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子).  2) Culture reading: pages 75-76 and 84.
  3. Song time: 1) Where is my friend?  2) 七八九.
  4. Go over Body parts handout.
  5. Video clip: Pinyin in 6 minutes.

Procedures for HS 2P (4/20/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to familiarize themselves with various TV, movie and music genres.

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 40 and 41.  2) Write new characters.     

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 30 and returns papers.  2) Makeup work (Josiah, Ben & Alex: round robin reading/WB page 30).
  2. Learn new characters (幻, 武, 俠, 興, 趣) with terms (科幻, 幻想, 夢想, 武俠, 武士, 俠士, 不過, 興趣).
  3. Practice reading text passages on pages 40-41.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (4/20/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to invite friends for an activity, accept / decline an invitation, answer questions about availability and hold a conversation when visiting a family.

Homework: Study for Lessons 7 and 8 vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.   1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 58 and returns you papers.  2) Take a copy of vocabulary list for your quiz tomorrow and answer key to WB page 60.  3) Makeup work (Antonio, Michaela, Colin: WB page 60; Antonio: round robin reading).

2.   Pair/Group work: type up your skit script.  Collect for grade.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/20/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Chinese terms.  2) Students will be able to gain culture knowledge about Chinese major cities and traditional folk arts.

Homework: Practice your oral presentation.

Procedure:

  1. DVD: 1) Places in China.  2) Chinese Civilization and Arts.
  2. Pair practice: read 10 sentences for oral presentation.
  3. 1) Complete and turn in your art project.  2) Presentation of your art project, if time allows.  3) Practice saying 10 sentences for your oral presentation.
  4. Learn action terms for game “Pin the tail on the donkey”.

 

 

Procedure for MS 5P (4/20/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lesson Nine text passages.  2) Students will be able to describe their nationality, language skill, favorite sports, and their sports skill.

Homework: Study for chapter test

Procedure:

  1. Take one headset, one copy of highlighted Lesson Nine text passages slip and one copy of procedure slip.
  2. Make your recording, name your file: < lastname >LessonNine.WAV, submit to MS5P under Ms. Chang’s folder in O drive and return your text passage slip with your name on it.
  3. Log onto Trey Rainey’s blog: www.treyschinalife.blogspot.com to read his new experience.
  4. Enter two new slides about your nationality, language skills (what language you can speak and how well you can speak it), your favorite sports, and how well you can play it with clip arts or digital pictures.  Print out these slides in handout layout and turn in!
  5. Go to Ms. Chang’s folder in P drive and play Ni Hao1 interactive game to review Lesson 9.
