Procedures for 4/18/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/18/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lesson Nine materials.

Homework: Lesson Ten characters definitions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Ten characters worksheet.  2) Turn in your Lesson Nine characters worksheet.  3) Ms. Chang returns papers (audacity, PPT draft, listening comprehension, etc).  4) Makeup work (Jack: audacity & PPT; Darian, Claire, Josh & Abdussamad: PPT draft).
  2. Lesson 9 chapter test.

 

Procedures for HS 2P (4/18/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to familiarize themselves with various TV, movie and music genres.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages on page 39-40. 

Procedure:

  1. 1)   Quick review (兒童   節目, 記錄片, 連續劇, 新聞, 無聊, 天氣預報, 卡通, 教育, 頻道, 喜劇, 聽說, 谈恋爱, 吵架,週末, 打哈欠, 歷史片, 愛情片, 音樂片).  2) Round robin reading: pages 39 tomorrow.
  2. Lesson Three quiz #1.
  3. Read text passages on pages 39-40.
  4. Teach new characters (噩, 夢, 偵, 探) with terms (偵探, 噩夢, 探子, 做夢).

 

Procedure for HS 9P (4/18/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to invite friends for an activity, accept / decline an invitation, answer questions about availability and hold a conversation when visiting a family.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Study for quiz #1.  3) Work on your skit draft #2.

  1. 1) Makeup work (Adam Y.: WB page 57; Michaela: WB page 59; Anthony: WB pages 47-48; Antonio: WB pages ; skit draft: Caelan/James, Eddie/Antonio).  2) Ms. Chang returns your skit draft.  3) Work at Red Lab on Wednesday, 4/20/11.  Lesson Six/Seven quiz #1: Thursday, 4/21/11.  Vocabulary list will be e-mailed tomorrow.  4) Ms. Chang collects your WB page 60.
  2. Teach new characters (過, 癮, 回, 就, 城) with terms (過癮, 回來, 一回, 一回事, 怎麼一回事, 我就是, 中國城).  Class notes will be e-mailed after school.
  3. Pair/Group work: type up your skit.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/18/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn body parts.  2) Students will be able to gain culture knowledge about Chinese food.

Homework: Work on your art project.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Saman: draft #2).  2) Quiz #4: tomorrow, 4/19; Art project due on Wednesday, 4/20 and oral presentation is on Thursday, 4/21.
  2. 1) Quick review (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se, zi se, zong se, lan se, lu se, cheng se, hui se, fen hong se).  2) Go over/Read all 10 sentences with challenging sounds.
  3. Culture reading: Chinese food.
  4. Pass out/go over body part handout.
  5. Song time: Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes.

 

 

Procedure for MS 5P (4/18/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review text passages for audacity and chapter test.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening and speaking skills.

Homework: 1) WB pages 58 / 62.  2) Study for audacity and chapter test.

Procedure:

  1. Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球, 游泳, 騎車, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 喜歡/欢, 最, 運動/运动, 最不喜歡/欢 => 不喜歡/欢 => 喜歡/欢 => 最喜歡/欢, 去, 喂, 吧, 走, 忙).
  2. Read text passage on pages 77-79.
  3. 1) Interview activity: WB page 59.  Share your results.  2) Listening activity: WB page 60.  Complete Section G writing part (Pages 60-61).  Go over the answer key.
  4. 1) Reading comprehension: text passage on page 83.  2) Sentence patterns on pages 80-81.
  5. Practice writing problem.
