Procedures for 4/19/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/19/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review sports and countries.  2) Students will be able to describe their facial features.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Polish your PPT draft and fix your master copy.


  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your Lesson Ten characters definitions.  2) Ms. Chang returns you papers (chapter test, characters worksheet, audacity slip, etc).  3) Makeup work (PPT draft: Jack, Claire, Josh, Darian; Abdussamad: characters worksheet.).
  2. Teach new characters (眼, 睛, 耳, 朵, 鼻子) with terms (眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子)
  3. Puzzles.


Procedures for HS 2P (4/19/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to familiarize themselves with various TV, movie and music genres.

Homework: 1) Work on your PPT.  2) WB page 30.   


  1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers.  2) Makeup work (Ben/Lauren: quiz #1).
  2. Conversation questions.
  3. Round robin reading text passages on page 39.


Procedure for HS 9P (4/19/11)


Objectives: Students will be able to invite friends for an activity, accept / decline an invitation, answer questions about availability and hold a conversation when visiting a family.

Homework: WB page 58.

  1. 1) Makeup work (Antonio, Michaela, Wyatt, John, Caitlin, Kathryn: WB page 60).  2) Go over terms (左右, 一會兒).
  2. 1)  Go over common mistakes shown your on skit/WB pages. 2) Explain WB page 58 with sentence pattern on text page 88.  3) Expectations for skit.  4) Explain Lessons 7 and 8 structure.
  3. Pair/Group work: finalize your skit.  Only 30 minutes (revised schedule) tomorrow.


Procedure for MS 3P (4/19/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn body parts.  2) Students will be able to gain culture knowledge about Chinese major cities and traditional folk arts.

Homework: Complete your art project.


  1. 1) Quick review.  2) Quiz #4.  3) Art project due tomorrow and oral presentation will be done on Thursday, 4/21.
  2. Pass out/go over body part handout.
  3. Song time: Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes.
  4. Game time: Simon Says.
  5. DVD: 1) Places in China.  2) Chinese Civilization and Arts.
  6. Pair practice: read 10 sentences for oral presentation.


Procedure for MS 5P (4/19/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review text passages for audacity and chapter test.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening and speaking skills.

Homework: Study for audacity and chapter test.


  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine Study Guide.  2) Captains check WB pages 58 and 62.  Go over the answer key.  3) Quick review (籃球, 足球, 棒球, 網球, 游泳, 騎車, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 喜歡/欢, 最, 運動/运动, 最不喜歡/欢 => 不喜歡/欢 => 喜歡/欢 => 最喜歡/欢, 去, 喂, 吧, 走, 忙).
  2. 1) Read text passage on pages 77-79.  2) Go over study guide.  3) Practice writing problems.  4) Puzzles.  5) Finish writing sentences for your PPT draft.
  3. Practice w/Wheel of the Sports.
