Procedures for 4/27/11

Procedure for HS 1P (4/27/11)

Objective(s): Students will be able to introduce their friends, to talk about the grade they are in, and to describe facial features.

Homework: WB page 63 (Sections A + B). 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Supplementary Terms handout and one copy of Year-End PPT checklist.  2) Turn in your paragraph of describing yourself.
  2. 1) Quick review (眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子, 眉毛, 頭, 頭髮, 嘴巴=口, 臉, 長, 短, 朋友).  2) Go over checklist.  Q/A session.

 

**  Juniors had an 15-minute assembly from 7:35AM.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (4/27/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to familiarize themselves with various TV programs, movie and music genres.

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages.  2) Write new characters. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Round robin reading: pages 40-41 this Friday.  2) Read text passages on pages 40-41.
  2. Oral presentation.
  3. Teach new characters (搖, 滾/滚, 隊/队, 興/兴, 趣) with terms (排隊, 一隊, 一場, 有名的 => 很有名的 = 有名氣 ó 沒有名氣, 搖滾樂, 搖滾樂隊, 樂隊, 音樂會, 音樂家, 畫家, 歌星, 歌唱家, 興趣).

 

 

Procedure for HS 9P (4/27/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to hold conversation when they make a phone call or visit a friend.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Round robin reading: pages 71-73 and 82-84 on Monday, 5/2/11.   

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your 5-sentence writing assignment.  2) Makeup work (Collin, Anthony, Antonio).  3) Return quiz papers.
  2. Skit presentation
  3. 1) Go over common mistakes on page 60.  2) Go over sentence patterns on pages 88.
  4. Teach new characters (鈴/铃, 鐘/钟, 接) with terms (接球, 時鐘, 門鈴, 電鈴)
  5. Read text passages on pages 71-73 and 82-83,

 

Procedure for MS 3P (4/27/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their oral proficiency in introducing themselves to their classmates.  2) Students will be able to know all direction terms.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return all papers.  2) Oral presentation.  3) Art project PPT presentation, if interested.
  2. Game time: 1) Simon Says.  2) Follow the Leader.
  3. Final review: all learned terms. 

Procedure for MS 5P (4/27/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to introduce their friends, to talk about the grade they are in, and to describe facial features.

Homework: Add sentences to your PPT.

Procedure:

1.   1) Take one copy of Year-End PPT checklist and Body Parts handout.  2) Makeup work (Alison, Cole).  3) Return PPT papers, etc.  Jubilee, Ryan, Kerem, Priya, Ted get credit for PPT draft.  4) Captains check Lesson Ten characters definitions.

2.   1) Quick review (朋, 友, 頭, 髮, 臉) with terms (大/小/好/老/女/男朋友, 頭, 頭髮).  2) Go over Checklist.  3) Pair activity: study Body Parts handout.

3.   1) Compare “得” and “的”.  2) Go over sentence pattern: v + 得很好。3) Q/A on your PPT draft.

4.   Seat work: Add sentences to your PPT.
