Procedures for 5/4/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/4/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice listening, speaking and writing skills in describing people.  2) Students will be able to apply what they learn to create a skit.

Homework: Draft your skit. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Work in Red Lab: Monday/Tuesday, 5/9-5/10 for audacity, PPT and Voki.  Lesson Ten chapter test: Wednesday, 5/11/11.  2) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 67.  Go over the answer key.  3) Return 11-sentence paragraph.  Correct mistakes for full credit.  4) Makeup work (Annie, Troy).
  2. Read text passages on pages 85-87.
  3. 1) Pair activity: Any Different Features?  2) Go over the answer key (1. 眉毛 2. 眼睛 3. 眼睛/ 眉毛 4. 耳朵  5. 頭髮  6.  鼻子). 3) Talk about celebrities (Prince Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Yao Ming, Katie Curic, Williams sisters).
  4. Skit preparation.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/4/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to talk about their preferences of music and sports. 

Homework: 1) WB pages 38 (#5-#8) & 33.  2) Review for chapter test Part I on next Monday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (交響樂/响乐, 歌劇/剧, 歌劇/剧院, 排球, 橄欖/榄球, 比賽/赛, 球迷, 電視迷, 芭蕾舞, 跳舞).  2) Round robin reading page 42: Friday, 5/6/11.  Lesson Three Chapter test Part I: Monday, 5/9/11.
  2. 1) Read text passage on page 42.  Go over terms (每天, 每一天, 每星期, 每個/个月, 每年, 每個/个人, 每班, 每家).
  3. Class work: WB page 33.  Due tomorrow.
  4. < Chinese IV >: go over text passage on page 6.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/4/11)

Objectives: Students will gain historical/cultural knowledge about history of Chinese immigrants and China, and common etiquette in greeting/visiting Chinese friends.  

Homework: Study!!

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lessons Six and Seven Study Guide.  2) Go over the study guide.  3) Return WB page 51.  4) Complete WB page 61 #7.  5) Makeup work (Cait/Caelan: WB 51; Colin: WB 53/64).  6) Chapter test Part I: listening and reading: Friday, 5/6/11.  Part I: writing: Monday, 5/9/11.
  2. 1) Show sentence pattern: verb + 得+ adverb with examples.  2) Comprehension reading: text page 81.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/4/11)

**  Due to OAA, there is no Exploratory Chinese class today.

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to introduce their friends, to talk about the grade they are in, and to describe facial features.  2) Students will be able to apply what they learn to create a skit. 

Homework: WB page 63.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Work in media center: Thursday/Friday, 5/12 and 5/13.  Lesson Ten chapter test: Wednesday, 5/11.  2) Quick review (朋友, 頭, 臉, 大/小/老/好/女/男朋友, 頭髮, 眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子, 眉毛, 嘴巴, 長, 短).
  2. 1) Read text passage on page 85.  2) Pair activity: Any Different Features?  Go over the answer key (1. 眉毛 2. 眼睛 3. 眼睛/ 眉毛 4. 耳朵  5. 頭髮  6.  鼻子).  3) Talk about celebrities.
  3. Listening activity: WB page 64.  Go over the answer key.
  4. Seat work: skit preparation.
