Procedures for 5/5/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/5/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to practice listening, speaking and writing skills in describing people.  2) Students will be able to apply what they learn to create a skit. 

Homework: Finalize your skit. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (上學/学, 上班, 上網/网, 年級/级, 學/学校, 同學/学ó 學/学生, 同校, 同班, 校車/车, 眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子, 眉毛, 頭/头, 頭髮/头发, 嘴巴=口, 臉/脸, 長/长, 短, 朋友).  2) Read text passages on pages 85-87.
  2. 1) Go over sentence patterns on text pages 88-89.  2) Group activity: In a Party.  Go over the answer key (8th grade: John, Mary and Kay; 9th grade: Peter, Emma and Michael).  3) Conversation session.
  3. 1) Game time: Simon Says.  2) Seat work: skit preparation.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/5/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to familiarize themselves with sentence patterns. 

Homework: WB page 44.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (交響樂/响乐, 歌劇/剧, 歌劇/剧院, 排球, 橄欖/榄球, 比賽/赛, 球迷, 電視迷, 芭蕾舞, 跳舞).
  2. 1) Go over sentence patterns on pages 46-48 with terms (每天, 每一天, 每星期, 每個/个月, 每年, 每個/个人, 每班, 每家) with sample sentences.  2) Go over text passage on page 45.
  3. Conversation session (based on WB page 33).

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/5/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to have a solid foundation of all sentence patterns. 

Homework: Study!!

Procedure:

  1. Go over text passage on pages 74/85.
  2. Listening activity: WB page 63.  Go over the answer key.
  3. Writing practice.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/5/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn simple greetings terms.  2)  Students will be able to write simple Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete rows of characters. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) We will have our lesson on room 221 tomorrow.  2) Return China reading packet.  3)  Makeup (Nick, Noah: China reading packet; Abby, Allison, Jennifer, Rachel L., Kiera, Mark, Solimar, Nick, Noah: signature slip).
  2. 1) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Zhang Lao Shi, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An Wan An).  2) Teach new terms (Zao, Ni Hao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Dong Le ma, Dong le, Bu Dong). 
  3. Culture reading.
  4. 1) Pass out/Go over square paper usage.  2) Teach character (sun).

Procedure for MS 5P (5/5/11)

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to introduce their friends, to talk about the grade they are in, and to describe facial features.  2) Students will be able to apply what they learn to create a skit. 

Homework: WB page 66.

Procedure:

  1. 1) 11-sentence paragraph is due tomorrow.  2) Quick review (朋友, 頭, 臉, 大/小/老/好/女/男朋友, 頭髮, 眼睛, 耳朵, 鼻子, 眉毛, 嘴巴, 長, 短).  3) We will have our lesson on room 221 tomorrow.
  2. Teach new characters (上, 級, 校, 同, 班) with terms (上學, 上班, 上網, 年級, 學校, 同學 ó  學生, 同校, 同班, 校車).
  3. 1) Conversation session.  2) Game time: Simon Says.  3) Song time: Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes.
  4. Pair work: Skit preparation.
