Procedures for 5/9/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/9/11)


Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their reading/oral fluency in making an audacity recording.  2) Students will be able to talk about and present themselves in a PPT project.

Homework: Study for Lesson Ten chapter test on Wednesday.


  1. 1) Take one headset, one copy of highlighted Lesson Ten text passages and one procedure slip for today.  2) Turn in your skit script and checklist.  3) Make your audacity recording, name it as < last name > LessonTen.Wave and submit to HS1P folder under Ms. Chang’s folder in O drive.  Turn in your highlighted text passages with your name on it.
  2. Expand your PPT to include your birthday and 10 sentences about your physical appearance.  If possible, add sentences for your friend (name, age, grade, physical appearance).  Insert any pictures and/or clip art.  Print out in handout format and turn in your hard copy to Ms. Chang.
  3. Go to to check out Trey’s recent adventure.
  4. Go to P drive and click Ni Hao 1 game to review Lesson Ten.
  5. If you like, go to to experiment Voki for fun.  It is a project for tomorrow, though.  Get one copy of Voki Information sheet from Ms. Chang, please.


Procedure for HS 2P (5/9/11)


目標: Students will be showcase their mastery of first half of Lesson Three materials.

功課: Practice answering questions on page 33 orally.  Conversation session tomorrow.

Procedure for HS 9P (5/9/11)


Objectives: Students will be able to showcase their mastery of Lessons Six and Lesson Seven.

功課: 1) Lesson Eight characters definitions.  2) WB pages 88 (#1-4) and 89 (#1-#3).


  1. 1) Turn in your Lessons Six and Seven characters worksheet.  2) Take one copy of Lesson Eight characters worksheet.  3) Good news announcement.
  2. Lessons Six and Seven chapter test: Part II: writing.


Procedure for MS 3P (5/9/11)


Objectives: 1) Students will be able to learn basic greeting terms.  2) Students will be able to learn simple Chinese characters.  3) Students will be able to apply learned greeting terms to create a skit.

Homework: Review all learned terms.


  1. 1) Makeup work (signature slip: ; China reading packet: Nick) before Wednesday. 5/11.  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Zhang Lao Shi, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Dong Le ma, Dong le, Bu Dong, ri, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi).  3) Skit preparation: presented on Wednesday.  4) Quiz #1: Friday, 5/13/11.
  2. 1) Teach new terms (Shang Ke, Qi Li, Jing Li).  2) Pair practice all learned terms.
  3. 1) Skit preparation.  Due/presented on Wednesday.  2) Quick review Chinese characters (日, 月, 山, 木).  3) Teach new characters (火, 人, 水, 口).
  4. Skit preparation.
  5. Video clip: Learn a Foreign Language.



Procedure for MS 5P (5/9/11)


Objectives: 1) Students will be able to review for audacity and chapter test.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening and speaking skills.

Homework: Study!


  1. 1) Return papers (11-sentence paragraph).  2) Captains checks WB page 67.  Go over the answer key.  3) Go over common mistakes (He2 for nouns/pronouns, not for connecting sentences or adjectives).  4) Talk to Priya, Jordan, and Collin.
  2. 1) Read text passages on pages 85-87.  2) Go over sentence patterns on pages 88-89.
  3. Group activity.  (Answer key: 8th grade: John, Mary and Kay; 9th grade: Peter, Emma and Michael).
  4. Writing practice.
  5. Music appreciation.
