Procedures for 5/16/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/16/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to express their food preferences, and name some Chinese dishes. 

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Browse through cookbooks for your order.  Due on Wednesday, 5/18/11.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return test papers.  2) Go over common audacity pronunciation errors (打Da not 的de, 都dou not duo, 走zou not zuo or zui, 走zou3 not 去qu4 or qu4 not zou3).  3) Makeup (Claire/Stefan/Darian).  4) International Club Cultural Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.
  2. 1) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃).  2) Teach new characters (治, 果, 汁, 牛, 奶) with terms (三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水). 
  3. Skit presentation.
  4. DVD: Taipei 101. 

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/16/11)

 

目標: 1) Students will be able to learn terms for various Chinese folk art.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their listening and speaking skills.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading page 49.

程序:

  1. 1) Makeup work/test (Ben, Lauren; Josiah/Alex: page 34).  2) International Club Cultural Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.
  2. Round robin reading: text passage on page 43.
  3. Conversation session: WB page 43.
  4. Read text passages on page 49.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/16/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to hold basic conversations at a restaurant or as a guest of a Chinese family.  2) Students will be able to write a note, explain causes, express frequency and offer choices.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Place your Chinese dish order.  Due on Friday. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) International Club Cultural Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.  2) Return papers (5 sentences, chapter test).
  2. 1) Quick review (剛好, 剛剛, 飯館, 一起, 出去, 回來, 帶, 時間, 回家, 因為, 留下來, 所以, 邀請, 常常, 時常, 不常, 平常, 尤其, 飲茶).  2) Review terms/sentence pattern: 沒有: (do / does not have); 還沒有: (still do / does not have); 還沒 V: (not Verb yet).
  3. Teach new characters (排, 改, 便, 坐, 單) with terms (牛排, 排球, 魚排, 雞排, 豬排, 改天, 便飯, 請坐, 坐下, 點菜, 菜單, 名單).
  4. Read text passages on pages 93-94.
  5. Pair activity: Browse through cook books and order your dishes (1 appetizer, 1 soup and 4 entrees/main courses).  Know pronunciation.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/16/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to count from 0 to 100.  2) Students will be able to recognize all learned Chinese characters.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup quiz (Nick, Sarah, Solimar).  2) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai).  3) Quiz #2: Friday, 5/20/11.  4) International Club Cultural Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.
  2. 1) Review Chinese counting principle.  Count from 0 to 100.  2) Culture reading: pages 5-6.  3) Newspaper hunting activity.  Collect.

 

 

Procedure for MS 5P (5/16/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to showcase their speaking skill and sharpen their listening through an oral presentation of their skit.  2) Students will be able to express their food preferences and name Chinese dishes.

Homework: Write new characters.

Procedure:

1.   1) Return papers.  2) Makeup work (PPT, Voki).   3) Go over common audacity pronunciation errors (Da not de, dou not duo, zou not zuo or zui, zou3 not qu4 or qu4 not zou3). 4)  International Culture Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.

2.   1) Browse through Lesson Eleven content.  2) Teach new characters (餓, 渴, 喝, 吃, 想) with terms (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴 // 1) 想 (helping verb) + verb => would like to verb; 想 (verb): miss.  2) 好 (adv) + adjective => so adjective).

3.   Skit presentation.
