Procedures for 5/17/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/17/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their food preferences, and name some Chinese dishes.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening comprehension. 

Homework: 1) Practice reading your PPT.  2) Your order of Chinese food.  Due this Friday. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水).  2) Take one copy of Lesson Eleven text passages.    
  2. 1) Browse through Chinese cookbooks.  2) Culture reading: text page 92.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/17/11)

 

目標: 1) Students will be able to learn terms for various Chinese folk arts.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their listening and speaking skills.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text page 49.

程序:

  1. 1) Makeup work/test (Ben, Lauren, Josiah, Alex: page 34).  2) Round robin reading: text passage (text page 43) and conversation session (WB page 33) tomorrow.  3) International Club Culture Night: 5:30-8:00, Friday, 5/20/11.
  2. 1) Quick review (交響樂/响乐, 歌劇/剧, 歌劇/剧院, 排球, 橄欖/榄球, 比賽/赛, 球迷, 電視迷, 芭蕾舞, 跳舞, 北京, 南京, 京劇/剧, 票價/价, 價錢/价钱, 開/开始, 排隊/队, 比較).  2) Teach new characters (龍, 獅, 笛, 琵, 琶) with terms (禮堂, 舞龍, 舞獅, 笛子, 獅子, 太極拳, 琵琶.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/17/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to order Chinese food.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their listening skill and speaking skills.

功課: Brainstorm your order of Chinese food.    Due on Friday, 5/20/11. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of conversation questions (shopping).  2) Quick review (牛排, 排球, 魚排, 雞排, 豬排, 改天, 便飯, 請坐, 坐下, 點菜, 菜單, 名單).  3) Go over common H/W mistakes.
  2. 1) Introduce common terms for Chinese food (雞, 魚, 牛, 豬, 蛋).  2) Browse through cook books and compile your order of Chinese dishes.
  3. Pair practice: conversation session.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/17/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to count from 0 to 100.  2) Students will be able to be exposed to Chinese traditional folk art: cutting paper patterns.

Homework: Review learned numbers with Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup quiz (nick).  2) Return papers.  3)Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai) with Chinese characters.  4) Cutting paper patterns. Collect.
  2. DVD: Chinese Civilizations and Arts.

Procedure for MS 5P (5/17/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to apply learned terms to create a skit.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their listening skill.

Homework: Practice reading your PPT.

Procedure:

1.   1) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 想喝).  2) Return papers.

2.   Skit presentation.

3.   1) Introduce Happy Chinese website.  2) Listening activity: animation / videos.
