Procedures for 5/18/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/18/11)

Objectives: Students will be able to express their food preferences and name some Chinese dishes.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Your order of Chinese food due this Friday. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Breakfast Items handout.  2) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水).
  2. Teach new characters (喜, 歡, 菜, 飯, 炒) with terms (喜歡, 歡喜, 中國菜, 炒飯, 炒菜).
  3. 1) Read text passages on pages 93-94.  2) Introduce Happy Chinese web site.   3) Go over Breakfast Items handout.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/18/11)

 

目標: 1) Students will be able to sharpen their listening skill.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their speaking, reading, and listening skills.

功課: WB page 41.

程序:

  1. 1) Quick review (禮堂, 舞龍, 舞獅, 笛子, 獅子, 太極拳, 琵琶).  2) Round robin reading: text page 43.  3) Conversation session: WB page 33.
  2. Class work: WB page 41 with special terms of (覺/觉得, 感動/动, 哭, 過/过去).
  3. Listening comprehension: Happy Chinese web site.

*    Chinese IV: oral description of Ni Hao 4 Lesson One: Page 1.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/18/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to name Chinese dishes.  2) Students will be able to sharpen their listening and reading skill.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Your order of Chinese food due: Friday, 5/20/11. 

Procedure:

  1. 1) A copy of Chinese food handout will be e-mailed after school today.  2) Quick review (牛排, 排球, 魚排, 雞排, 豬排, 改天, 便飯, 請坐, 坐下, 點菜, 菜單, 名單).  3) Review learned terms (炒飯, 春捲, 白飯, 甜酸雞, 漢堡, 熱狗, 三明治, 牛奶, 果汁, 水, 可樂, 咖啡, 沙拉, ).
  2. Teach new characters (盤, 碗, 湯, 辣, 獅) with terms (盤子, 飯碗, 酸辣湯, 獅子, 獅子頭).
  3. Read text passages on pages 93-96.
  4. Conversation session with skit performance (shopping).
  5. Listening comprehension: Happy  Chinese web site: What Time Is It?

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/18/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to know all sounds/characters from 0 to 100.  2) Students will be able to know various terms for family members.

Homework: Review learned number terms with Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai, ri, yue, shan, shui, mu, ren, huo, kou).  2) Teach new terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, meimei, jiejie).
  2. 1) Pass out/go over number table.  2) Connecting the Dot activity.  Collect.

 

Procedure for MS 5P (5/18/11)

  1. 1) Take one copy of conversation questions and one copy of Breakfast Items handouts.  2) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水).  3) Return papers (skit, PPT).
  2. Review/Teach new characters (喜, 歡, 菜, 飯, 炒) with terms (喜歡, 歡喜, 中國菜, 炒飯, 炒菜).
  3. 1) Go over Conversation Questions and Breakfast Items handouts.  2) Group activity: practice conversation
