Procedures for 5/23/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/23/11)

 

Objectives: Students will be able to express their food and drink preferences and name Chinese food.   

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Complete your sentences of preferences of food and drinks.   

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks your WB page 74.  2) Return papers (Chinese food).  Fix and return by the end of tomorrow for full credit.  Questions?  3) Work at lab on Thursday to finalize your PPT.
  2. 1) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水, 喜歡, 歡喜, 中國菜, 炒飯, 炒菜, 真的啊, 筷子, 可是).  2) Teach new characters (到, 別, 全, 太, 熱/热) with terms (不客氣/气= 別客氣/气, 全家, 全班, 全國/国, 太太 ó 先生, 太好了, 熱/热水, 熱/热狗

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/23/11)

 

目標: Students will be able to acquire various terms for Chinese musical instruments and folk arts.

功課: 1) Write new characters.  2) Study for chapter test part II on Thursday.

程序:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Ben: WB pages 31/40; Lauren: WB page 40).  2) Quick review (禮堂, 舞龍, 舞獅, 笛子, 獅子, 太極拳, 琵琶, 成人, 成功, 開門, 開關, 地點, 晚會, 表演, 人民, 國民).
  2. Teach new characters (相, 聲/声, 彈, 演, 謠) with terms (彈, 相聲, 聲音, 大聲, 表演, 節目表,民謠, 子彈).
  3. Read text passages on page 49.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/23/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to hold a conversation as a guest of a Chinese family.  2) Students will be able to know expectations and requirements for a bonus project.

功課: 1) Questions/answers for Jeopardy review game.  Due on Friday.  2) Write new characters.     

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang returns papers (food order, WB pages 66, 67 + 70).  Fix mistakes and return by the end of tomorrow to get full credit. Questions?  3) Makeup work (5 sentences, WB page 66, WB page 67).  4) Display calendar for future events.  5) Oral exam (seniors: Wednesday + Thursday; others: 5/27, 5/31, 6/1, 6/2).  Volunteers needed for before, after school + 8P.
  2. 1) Quick review (牛排, 排球, 魚排, 雞排, 豬排, 改天, 便飯, 請坐, 坐下, 點菜, 菜單, 名單, 炒飯, 春捲, 白飯, 甜酸雞, 漢堡, 熱狗, 三明治, 牛奶, 果汁, 水, 可樂, 咖啡, 沙拉, 盤子, 飯碗, 酸辣湯, 獅子, 獅子頭, 還是, 對了, 結/结果, 結帳/结帐, 味精, 味道, 帳/帐單).  2) Teach new characters (盛, 自, 己, 添) with terms (盛飯, 隨便, 自己, 自我介紹, 添飯, 餓 ó 飽).
  3. Go over visitation conversation slip with correct dialogue.
  4. Go over possible categories of review game: —create questions/answers for Jeopardy: (1) special holidays, (2) weekdays, (3) daily routine—action verbs; (4) time—morning, noon, afternoon, evening, midnight + telling time; (5) direction terms; (6) room terms; (7) adjectives—new, old, broken, out of order, tight, loose, comfortable, fashionable, pretty, fitted, expensive, cheap, sweet, sour; (8) appliances; (9) clothing items; (10) colors; (11) measure/counting words; (12) fruits; (13) money; (14) supplies: newspaper, magazine, dictionary, map; (15) polite expressions + special expressions.

 

Procedure for MS 3P (5/23/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to build sentences to introduce themselves.  2) Students will be able to expose origami.

Homework: Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup test (Sarah).  2) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, he, jia, sui, you, ge ren, liang).  3) Quiz #3 (family + supplementary terms): Friday, 5/27/11.  Quiz #4 (colors): Friday, 6/3/11.  4) Art project due on Friday, 6/3/11.
  2. 1) Teach new terms (sheng ri, nian, de) and Chinese date format.  2) Finish up building sentences #4 and #5.
  3. Origami activity: Pin wheel.

 

Procedure for MS 5P (5/23/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express food preferences and name some Chinese dishes.  2) Students will be able to polish their listening and speaking skills.

Homework: 1) Study for semester exam.  2) Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水, 喜歡, 歡喜, 中國菜, 炒飯, 炒菜, 會, 做, 拿, 看, 真的啊, 筷子, 可是).  3) PPT printout due on this Friday, 5/27/11.
  2. 1) Display calendar for future events (oral exam (5/25, 5/26, 5/27 + semester exam + PPT presentation –5/31, 6/3, 6/6, 6/7 & 6/8)–.  2) Draw numbers for order of taking oral exam.  Volunteers needed for 4P/6P to relieve loads.
  3. Teach new characters (到, 別, 全, 太, 熱/热) with terms (不客氣/气= 別客氣/气, 全家, 全班, 全國/国, 太太 ó 先生, 太好了, 熱/热水, 熱/热狗).  2) Oral exam practice with new questions on Lesson Eleven.
