Procedures for 5/24/11

Procedure for HS 1P (5/24/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to sharpen their listening and speaking skills.  2) Students will be able to gain knowledge of the characteristics of Chinese food and Chinese cooking.    

Homework: 1) WB pages 73 & 76 (#2, #5).  2) Complete your sentences about your best friend.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your sentences of preferred food and drink. 2) The entire PPT printout w/checklist due on Friday, 5/27/11.  Your file needs to be submitted to O drive under Ms. Chang’s folder or e-mailed to me by 10 AM, Friday, 5/27/11.  3) Semester oral exam: 5/27, 5/31, 6/1.  PPT presentation: 6/1, 6/2, 6/3.
  2. 1) Share WB page 74.  2) Conversation dialogue.  3) Read text passages on pages 93-95.
  3. Showcase PPT sample works from last year.

 

Procedure for HS 2P (5/24/11)

 

目標: Students will be able to acquire various terms for Chinese musical instruments and folk arts.

功課: 1) Study for chapter test Part II (Thursday).  2) Questions/Answers for Jeopardy Review Game.  Due this Friday, if you choose to participate.  E-mail Ms. Chang your questions/answers set.  Each set is half point, and you can earn up to 5 points.

程序:

  1. 1) Take one copy of study guide.  Chinese Three: Lesson Three Chapter test Part II/Chinese Four Lesson One Quiz #2: Thursday, 5/26.  2) Quick review (禮堂, 舞龍, 舞獅, 笛子, 獅子, 太極拳, 琵琶, 成人, 成功, 開門, 開關, 地點, 晚會, 表演, 人民, 國民, 彈, 相聲, 聲音, 大聲, 表演, 節目表).  3) Bonus work: Questions/Answers for Jeopardy Review Game.
  2. 1) Go over the study guide.  2) Compare terms (常, 時常, 常常, 不常, 非常).  3) Read text passages on pages 44 & 54-55.
  3. Bonus work:  Categories for Jeopardy Review Game: (1) School subjects, (2) School facilities, (3) Transportation modes, (4) Places, (5) Adverbs, (6) Adjectives, (7) Movie genres, (8) TV genres, (9) Music Genres, (10) Chinese musical instruments and folk arts.

 

Procedure for HS 9P (5/24/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to polish their listening and speaking skills.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese food and etiquette.

功課: WB page 89 (#4-#5) & page 73.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in makeup work (food order, 5-sentences, WB page 70, etc)—last day.  2) Draw a number for oral semester exam (seniors + the rest of the class).  3) Lesson Eight Quiz (matching): Thursday, 5/26/11.  3) Turn in your Lesson Eight characters worksheet on Friday, 5/27/11.  4) E-mail your Jeopardy questions/answers, please.

Procedure for MS 3P (5/24/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to orally introduce themselves.  2) Students will be able to gain cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac animals.

Homework: Review all learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, he, jia, sui, you, ge ren, liang, de, sheng ri, nian).  2) Pair practice reading your sentences #1-#5.  Collect.
  2. 1) Origami: gift box.  Collect for grade.  2) Cultural reading: Chinese zodiac animals.

 

Procedure for MS 5P (5/24/11)

 

Objectives: 1) Students will be able to express their food preferences and name some Chinese dishes.  2) Students will be able to gain knowledge of the characteristics of Chinese food and Chinese cooking.    

Homework: 1) WB pages 73 & 76 (#2, #5).  2) Finalize your PPT.  Due this Friday!!

Procedure:

  1. 1) Captains check WB page 74.  2) Sharing WB page result.  3) Quick review (口渴, 喝水, 很餓, 很渴, 好餓, 好渴, 想吃, 三明治, 水果, 果汁, 牛奶, 奶水, 喜歡, 歡喜, 中國菜, 炒飯, 炒菜, 真的啊, 筷子, 可是, 不客氣/气= 別客氣/气, 全家, 全班, 全國/国, 太太 ó 先生, 太好了, 熱/热水, 熱/热狗).  4) Oral exam starts from tomorrow.  5) PPT printout w/checklist due on Friday, 5/27.  Your PPT file needs to be submitted to Ms. Chang’s folder under O drive or e-mailed to Ms. Chang by 5P on Friday.
  2. 1) Showcase PPT sample works from last year.  2) Culture reading: textbook page 101.
  3. Go over text page 102 for reading comprehension.
  4. Conversation dialogue.   Q/A session.
