Procedure HS Chinese IV (8/31/11)

目標: 1) 我會/会請朋友來一起過/过生日.  2) 我會/会問問題.

功課: 1) 寫/写生字.  2) 改會/会話功課.  3)唸課文 62頁.

程序:

1.   1) Turn in revised dialogue w/rubric.  Return jump drive.  2) Check completeness of your character worksheet.  3) Study.

Procedure HS Chinese III (8/31/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) 我会形容 (describe) 天气。2) 我会问问题。

功课: 1) Dialogue presentation.  2) 寫/写生字. 3) 看课本105页。 Preread text page 105.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Return Jump drive.  2) Turn in your final version of dialogue and rubric.  3) Game time.  4) Picture day tomorrow.  5) Introduce the structure of files in your flash drive.  Listening comprehension (#1113) at home.  6) Dictation of new characters tomorrow.  Count for class participation.
  2. Teach new vocabulary (陰/阴天, 氣/气, 天氣/气, 生氣/气, 小氣/气, 空氣/气,打气).
  3. Dialogue presentation + Q/A session.

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms.  2) I can acquire geographic knowledge about China.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete reading packet tonight if it is not done in class.

Procedure:

1.   1) Quick review.  2) Teach new terms.  3) Check ProgressBook for any missing assignments.   4) (7P) Class activity (thank you and you’re welcome).  5) Confirm your parent’s attendance before tomorrow’s surprise reward!!  6) Complete interview presentation if not done.

2.   Go over China reading packet.  DVD: General information about China.

3.   Class work: (Independent/Pair work) Complete China reading packet.  Ms. Chang checks your missed school supplies.  Bring in book cover for your textbook, please.

功课: 1) Dialogue presentation. Fix mistakes.  2) 聽/听中文錄音 #1113 (#1101 + 1104 + 1106 + 1108 + 1111).听力测試 (ting1li4ce4shi4: listening comprehension: 9/13/11).

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) 9/10/11 test day for freshmen, sophomore and juniors.  Seniors have to visit colleges or shadow on that day.  2) Game time preview.  3) Captains check completion of character worksheet.  4) Quick review.  Dictation (will count for participation grade tomorrow).  5) Missing assignment??
  2. Presentation (your new friend).  Listening comprehension Q/A session.
  3. Return jump drive and dialogue w/rubric.  Ask questions if you do not understand Ms. Chang’s comments.

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) 我会问问题—I can apply question words in daily conversation.  2) 我认识我的同学–I can know my classmates through an interview and a presentation.  3) 我学新的生字—I can use new vocabulary to describe weather. 

功课: 1) Know your classmates’ Chinese names.  2) Work on your pen pal letter.  Do not procrastinate!!  Due on 9/7/11.  3) Write new characters.  4) Complete definitions for vocabulary worksheet.        

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your dialogue with rubric.  2) Take one copy of class roster.  Go over each one’s Chinese name.  Game time: Friday, 9/2.  Practice starts from tomorrow.  Final two winners: homework pass!  3) Captains check school supplies.  Put your flash drive into a sandwich bag with your name on it.  Collect (jump drive and socks).
  2. Return and complete your interview activity (7 did not turn in).  It should have Chinese name, grade and three different verbs).  Collect.  Present today/tomorrow.
  3. Teach new vocabulary (名詞, 動/动詞, 形容詞, 雨, 雨天, 下雨, 雨衣/穿雨衣, 雨鞋/穿雨鞋, 雪, 雪花, 下雪, 下雪天, 雪人, 晴, 晴天).

功课: Supplies, signature slip, dialogue writing due next Monday, 8/29/11.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your forms if you have not done so.  2) Take one copy of Dialogue rubric. Quick going over.  3) Ask questions and stay after school for tutoring.
  2. Pair activity: continue to create a dialogue using 8 question words.
  3. Interview a new friend (not your buddy) in Chinese.  Write down 5 things (pinyin OK) about him/her (besides name and grade).  Present next Monday.  Collect and count for today’s participation grade.  Use 5 different verbs, please.

  1. Quick check (hanyu pinyin, official language, priority of vowels, basic greetings, tone marks).
  2. Teach greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Lao Shi).
  3. Pair/Group activity (5 minutes):  Interview a new friend and write down three things about him/her (besides name and grade) in complete sentences using three different verbs.

  1. (2P) Ms. Chang collects your Student Inventory.  Go over parent letter.  Letter.  Due on next Monday, 8/29.  Add your answers to these two questions (why did you sign up the Chinese class?  What are your goals set for this class?)

Procedure for HS Chinese III/IV 1P (8/25/11)

 

Objectives: 1) I can follow Chinese III/IV class expectations.  2) I can apply commonly used question words/phrases in my daily conversation.

Homework: 1) Signature slip/supplies due on next Monday, 8/29/11.  2) A minimum of 10 sentences with 8 key question words/commonly used phrases.   Typed in Chinese characters.  Due on Monday, 8/29/11.  Present on Wednesday and Thursday, 8/31/11 and 9/1/11.

Procedure:

1.  1) Take one copy of vocabulary worksheet.  2) Pass out Ni Hao 3 3rd edition workbook.  3) Collect emergency cards which will be put into this emergency notification for school, forms, etc.  4) Pass out extra pen pal letters!  Reply correspondence due on September 7.

2.  Go over course syllabus (sections of classroom rules, cheating).

3.  Go over commonly used phrases (什么时候, 怎么, 什么, 哪里, 谁, 谁的, 多少钱, 为什么).  Pair activity: compile a dialogue including all these 8 terms.
