Procedures for Chinese III (9/14/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) 我會会形容我自己.  2) 我會会中文會話/会话。

功课: Work on your pen pal letter—due this Friday / skit draft–due next Monday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your 5-sentence writing assignment.  2) Makeup work (畢克能 + 羅美樂; 魏絲娜 + 修耐德).  2) Review terms for days (今天, 明天, 後天, 大後天, 昨天, 前天, 大前天).
  2. Guess game: 5 sentences about yourself (weight, height, colors of your hair and eyes, clothes you wear, your grade).  Write in Chinese characters.  Collect for game.
  3. Pair activity—role play.  Brainstorm ideas and pick out one skit you prefer to work on.


Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (9/14/11)

Objectives: 1) I can express Chinese numbers from zero to one hundred orally and in writing.  2) I can identify and comprehend Chinese numbers from zero to one hundred when read to me.

Homework: 1) WB page 17.  2) Set up your computer for Chinese input.


  1. 1) Makeup work—character writing (2P: Jonah, Alex R.; 7P: Amari)—WB pages (2P: Ben)—paper cut patterns (2P: Joy, Lance, Alexandra, Laura, James, T.J., Brynne, Travis, Jonah, Anna).  2) Captains check WB pages 18-19.  Go over the answer key.  3) Dictation (numbers between 0-100).
  2. 1) Audio CD file (#1-7).  2) Introduce websites (syllabus #2, #3, #4, or #5).
  3. 1) Cultural reading: textbook pages 5-6.  2) Mid-autumn Festival PPT.


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/14/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say numbers and family members in Chinese.  2) I can play rock, scissors, paper game in Chinese version.

Homework: Review learned numbers w/Chinese characters and family members.


1.  1) Makeup work (5P: Bryce: character writing and quiz #1).  2) Quick review (numbers).  3) Teach family terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, sui).

2.   1) Audio CD file (#1-7).  2) Culture reading / game time: fist guessing game.
