Procedures for 9/19/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (9/19/11)—before/after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 我會邀請朋友參加我的生日會.

功课: 1) Study for vocabulary quiz: Friday, 9/23/11.  2) Read text passages on pages 64-65.  3) Audio file #462 (436 + 440 + 446 + 450 + 456).  4) Finalize your invitation card with required components (date, time, place, what it is for, activities planned, wish list/things to bring to the party, art work).

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Review all learned vocabulary (抱歉, 玉, 項鏈/项链, 手鐲/镯, 耳環/环, 好看, 漂亮, 禮/礼物, 小說/说, 漫畫書/漫画书, 一起, 已經/经, 聽說/听说, 光碟, 算了, 對/对了, 麻煩/烦, 自己. 邀請, 壽/寿麵, 時間/间, 住址, 回信, 一定, 準時/准时, 送, 從/从..到, 你看).  2) Check WB pages 50/54.  3) Turn in 5 goals/Pass out I Can Statements.

2.   1) Read text passages on pages 62-65.  2) Go over Invitation Card draft.  3) Perform 6-term dialogue.

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (9/19/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can identify many Chinese characters.  2) I can comprehend Chinese videos to review materials I learned before.  3) I can understand Chinese conversation.

功课: 1) Audio file #462 (436 + 440 + 446 + 450 + 456).  2) Study character list for your vocabulary quiz: Friday, 9/23.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. Go to http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php, scroll your screen and click HSK Chinese Proficiency Test (Revised) Level 1.  Know all those 1-50, 51-100, 101-150 word list.
  2. Go to http://kid.chinese.cn/article/2009-09/25/content_68502.htm.  1) Click 15 and watch animation and situation video under Lesson 19.  2) Click 19 and watch animation and situation video under Lesson 8 (not working this morning).
  3. Go to P drive, click Ni Hao 3 game under Ms. Chang’s folder.  Click lesson 5 and play constructing sentences to review terms and sentence patterns.
  4. Go to http://chinesereadingworld.org/.  Click upper left icon “Register to Enter” to create a new account.  Once enter, click beginning level to answer reading questions

Procedure for HS Chinese III (9/19/11)

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Return Pen Pal letter papers / other papers.  Turn in your skit draft.  2) Missing work (Colin / Aashna / Melissa; Adam: draft/checklist).  Caelan + Michaela + Brad talk to Ms. Chang, please.  3)  Take one copy of character list.
  2. Go to http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php, click Ni Hao Volume 2 in the table, click “1.  My birthday,” “2.  My daily routine,” and “3. Xiaoming’s home” to play flash card to review vocabulary.  Write down meanings/pinyin for those characters that you forget.  Some of these characters will be tested this Friday.
  3. Go to http://kid.chinese.cn/article/2009-09/25/content_68502.htm.  1) Click 05 and watch animation and situation video under Lessons 13 and 14.  2) Click 09 and watch animation and situation video under Lesson 3 (not working this morning).

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (9/19/11)

Objectives: 1) I can tell consonants b, p, m, and f apart.  2) I can discriminate Chinese 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th tone.

Homework: 1) Review b, p, m, f handout.  2) Write new Chinese character definitions

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Three Character worksheet.  2) Missing work (7P: Abigail—WB page 17).  3) Quiz #4 (b, p, m, f) handout: Friday, 9/23.  4) Check ProgressBook for accuracy.
  2. 1) Tone quiz.  2) Dictation (b, p).  3) Finish b, p, m, f handout.
  3. Chopsticks practice

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/19/11)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself and my family in Chinese.  2) I can acquire Chinese cultural knowledge about numbers.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Practice reading four sentences.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Missing work (3P: Ashley / Alexa: dot-to-dot activity and quiz #2; 5P: Bryce—Cutting paper pattern, character writing, quiz #2, dot-to-dot activity; Emily Pfefferal: quiz #2 + dot-to-dot activity; Micah: dot-to-dot activity).  2. Quick review (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, sui).
  2. 1) Teach new terms (jia, you, ge ren, he, liang).  2) Write sentences #3 & #4.  3) Practice reading sentences #1-4
  3. Culture reading: Lucky and unlucky numbers.
  4. 1) Showcase art project samples.  2) Brainstorm your theme and medium first.
