Procedures for 9/26/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (9/26/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can read / interpret text passages in Chinese.  2) I can aurally comprehend video clips. 

功课: 1) Audio file #934 (922 + 924 + 927 + 929 + 932).  2) Study for your Chapter test Part I (pages 62-65).

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. Click the following links 1) Lesson Thirteen (我的家) http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_2/beginning_u2_03.html and 2) Lesson 20 (我家的房子) http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_2/beginning_u2_10.hml and click the bottom Start the Pre-test  to answer 5 pre-test questions.  Click Submit for another 6-question reading test.  Click submit and you will proceed to take a post test.
  2. Go to P drive and click Ni Hao 3 game under Ms. Chang’s folder to review terms and sentence patterns.
  3. Log onto http://english.cntv.cn/program/learnchinese/20101102/102146.shtml to watch a video about transportation.
  4. Log onto http://english.cntv.cn/program/learnchinese/20101022/100688.shtml to watch a video about directions.

 

Procedure for HS Chinese III (9/26/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can recognize frequently said/used Chinese characters.  2) I can read Chinese text passages. 

功课: 1) Study for your character quiz.  2) WB page 76.  3) Audio file #934 (922 + 924 + 927 + 929 + 932).

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Hao 2 Lessons 4-6 Character Review quiz: Friday,9/30/11.
  2. Go to http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php, click Ni Hao Volume 2 in the table, click “4.  My Clothes,” “5.  Shopping,” and “6. Visiting a Friend” to play flash cards and review vocabulary.  Write down meanings/pinyin for those characters that you forget.  Some of these characters will be tested this Friday.
  3. Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (9/26/11)

Objectives: 1) I can read and solve math equations with proficiency through flash card activity.  2) I can cite read text passages proficiently on page 20.  3) I can tell the differences among d, t, n, and l consonants.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables.  2) Read text passages on pages 18-20.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Find one childhood picture.  Due next Monday, 10/3/11.  Work on Media Center next Monday to input Chinese pinyin and characters.  Oral quiz: Wednesday, 9/28/11.  2) Introduce website: http://student.nihaoseries.com/ and click Number on the left-hand-side menu to check out the list of vocabulary.  3) Quick review (加, 减/減, 乘以, 除以, 等于/於)
  2. 1) Dictation (d).  2) Go over d, t, n, l handout.
  3. 1) Read text passage on page 20.  2) Pair activity: flash cards (+, -, and =).

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/26/11)

Objectives: 1) I can prepare flash cards for color unit.  2) I can say colors in Chinese.  3) I can express phone number and address in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Review learned colors.  2) Practice reading sentences #1-#5.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Art project due Monday, 10/3/11.  Oral presentation: Tuesday, 10/4/11.  2) Makeup work (3P: Joe/Matt Murphy/Cameron: origami product; Courtney: draft #1;
  2. 5P: Dominic).  3) Return quiz #4 paper and 5 sentences.  Feedback and comments.
  3. 1) Make flash cards (index cards, colored strips, glue sticks).  Check flash cards for participation grade today.  2) Teach new terms (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).
  4. Write sentence #6.
