Procedures for 10/3/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (10/3/11)—before and after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can comprehend Chinese passages of familiar topics.  2) I can use online video clips to review that I learned before.  3) I can compare and contrast traditional foods for three major Chinese festivals.

功课: 1) Complete and final version of your invitation card due: Wednesday, 10/5/11.  2) Read text passages on pages 66-69.  3) Listening comprehension quiz: Wednesday, 10/5/11.  Reading comprehension quiz: Friday, 10/7/11.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Check your WB page 51 / 56 Part I.  2) Teach new characters with terms (桃, 改, 端, 餃, 壽桃, 改天, 有名, 還不錯, 自己, 已經, 端午節, 餃子, 拿手).
  2. Read text passages on pages 66-67 and 68-69.

功课: 1) Study for your listening comprehension quiz (Wednesday) and reading comprehension quiz (Friday).  2) Invitation card final version due Wednesday, 10/6/11.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. Take one copy of Reading Comprehension questions.  Click the following links http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_07/beginning_u07_02.html for 1) Lesson 62 (今天不能买),  http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_07/beginning_u07_03.html for 2) Lesson 63 (穿衣服) and click the bottom Start the Pre-test  to answer 5 pre-test questions, and http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_03/beginning_u03_01.html for 3) Lesson 21 (作息时间表).  Click Submit for another 6-question reading test.  Click submit and you will proceed to take a post test.
  2. Go to P drive and under Ms. Chang’s folder, click Ni Hao 3 Lesson 5 interactive game to review Lesson 9 material.

 

Procedure for HS Chinese III (10/3/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can comprehend Chinese passages of familiar topics.  2) I can use online flash cards and interactive game to review characters that I learned before.

功课: 1) Study for your listening comprehension quiz (Wednesday) and reading comprehension quiz (Friday).  2) 4th skit draft due this Wednesday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your WB page 81.  2) Take one copy of Ni Hao 2 Lessons 7-9 characters list and one copy of Reading Comprehension.
  2. Go to http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/flashcards.php, click Ni Hao Volume 2 in the table, click “7.  Making Phone Calls,” “8.  Eating,” and “9. Weather” to play flash cards and review vocabulary.  Write down meanings/pinyin for those characters that you forget.
  3. Click the following links http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_07/beginning_u07_02.html for 1) Lesson 62 (今天不能买) and http://collections.uiowa.edu/chinese/readings/beginning/b_flash/b_unit_07/beginning_u07_03.html for 2) Lesson 63 (穿衣服) and click the bottom Start the Pre-test  to answer 5 pre-test questions.  Click Submit for another 6-question reading test.  Click submit and you will proceed to take a post test.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/3/11)

Objectives: 1) I can type Hanyu Pinyin and Chinese characters with website tools.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can use interactive game to help me review my Chinese learning.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables (g).  2) Practice reading/solving math equations.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your childhood pictures.  2) Take one headset and one copy of highlighted text passages and typing scripts.
  2. Follow audacity instruction to make sure your headset/microphone works.  1) Make recording <Section A only> and save it as <#P><YourLastName> and drag your file to Ms. Chang’s folder under 2011-2012MS2P or 2011-2012MS7P folder.
  3. Log onto www.learningchineseonline.net to type section B: sample pinyin in your highlighted sheet.  Cut and paste your work to a WORD document.
  4. Log onto www.inputking.com, check first selection and Start Inputking, use section B’s pinyin to type sample Chinese characters.  The characters you select should match with those on section C.  Cut and paste your work to the previous WORD document.
  5. Print out your WORD with your name on it.  Turn in your printout and the copy of highlighted text passage.
  6. Log onto P drive and click Ms. Chang’s folder to play Ni Hao 1 interactive game.  Type your name and click Lesson 3 game.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/3/11)

Objectives: 1) I can apply 10 Chinese terms to create an art project.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese school system.  3) I can explore Tangram piece game.

Homework: Practice your oral presentation.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your art project.  2) Makeup work/quiz: Morgan, Abbi, Stafanie, Katrina, Elizabeth ; 5P: Griffin H.).
  2. 1) Practice reading your 10 sentences.  2) Cultural reading: Chinese school system.
  3. (5P only) Explore tangram pieces (Part I).
