Procedures for 10/12/11

** Test day at HS.   No classes today.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/12/11)

Objectives: 1) I can tell the difference among zh and ch consonants.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.  3) I can sight read Chinese sentences fluently.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables and characters.  2) Practice reading sentences on Review Sounds Packet #1.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Dictation (zh).  2) Teach (ch).
  2. Culture reading: text passages on pages 17/21/22.
  3. 1) Pass out/go over Review Sounds Packet #1.  2) Pair activity: practice sounding out sentences on page 1—first quarter oral exam.

 

 Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/12/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese arts.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete your Chinese character writing.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review and teach new terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi).  2) Makup work (signature slip, China reading packet)?
  2. 1) Cultural reading: Introduction to Chinese Language / Chinese writing.  2) Pass out / go over square paper.  3) Teach simple Chinese characters (日, 月).

3.   (5P only) DVD: Chinese Civilization and Arts.
