Procedures for 10/13/11

Procedure for HS Chinese III (10/13/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can understand Chinese dialogue.  2) I can acquire information / knowledge about Study Abroad program.

功课: Study for your chapter test.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine Study Guide.  Turn in your Lesson Nine characters worksheet next Monday.  2) Go over Study Guide.
  2. Skit performance / QA session (Colin / Kate; Antonio / Adam; Claire / Michaela).
  3. Presentation (Trey Rainey).  Q/A session.

 

 Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/13/11)

Objectives: 1) I can know the expectations in the library next Monday.  2) I can tell the differences among sh and r consonants.  3) I know sight read sentences with Pinyin fluently.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.  2) Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Work at library next Monday, 10/17/11.  Consonants quiz: Friday, 10/21/11.   2) Makeup work (2P: Jennifer—quiz + 6 characters / Lance: Lesson 3 characters + 6 characters / James: 6 characters / Jonah: Lesson 3 characters + Lesson 2 character definitions / Chloe + Joy + Brynne + Alex: Lesson 2 character definitions; 7P: Kelley: quiz + 6 characters / Alissa: lesson 3 characters / John + Jackson + Jennifer: 6 characters).
  2. Introduce 3 websites and go over task routine (attachment for Chinese names) for next Monday.
  3. 1) Dictation (ch).  2) Teach (sh, r)
  4. Pair activity: practice sounding out sentences in Review Sounds 1 packet.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/13 11)

Objectives: 1) I can acquire cultural knowledge about giant panda, Chinese zodiac animals and Chinese calligraphy.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  3) I can write simple Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete your writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Matt Kraig; 5P: Maria).  Return China reading packet.  2) Quick review / teach new greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, 日, 月, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi).  3) Teach new characters (木, 山).
  2. Cultural reading: Panda legend.
  3. DVD: Chinese Calligraphy / Chinese Zodiac Animals.
