Procedure for HS Chinese IV (10/18/11)—after school

目标 (MùBiāo): I can talk about illness, read medical instructions and write notes of absence

功课: Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Five characters worksheet and workbook.  Reading text pages 66-69 (Josiah + Trey).  2) Check Lesson Six character definitions.  3) Teach new characters with terms (病, 搞, 痛, 吐, 燒/烧, 生病, <body part >痛, 發燒/发烧,, 舒服, 怎麼/么搞的, 覺/觉得, 糟糕, 快, 該/该, 起床, 上學/学, 上廁/厕所, 想 < verb >, 還/还有, 得, 我看, 不要, 等一下).
  2. Read text passage on page 79.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (10/18/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can name various school subjects.  2) I can sustain and maintain 1-minute conversation.  3) I can know the expectations of the weather project.

功课: 1) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.  2) Brainstorm your idea for the weather project.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Captains check Lesson One character definitions.  2) Makeup test + character worksheet + character definitions (Jay).  3) Skit presentation (Colin/Kathryn).
  2. Teach new characters with terms (数/數, 术/術, 科, 化, 数学/數學, 科学/學, 化学/學, 英文, 美术/術, 生物, 音樂, 中文).
  3. Pair activity: 1-minute conversation.
  4. 1) Pass out/Go over Weather Project checklist.  2) Class work time.

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/18/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say and write simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can name myself and other people.  3) I can tell the difference between consonants z and c sounds.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables.  2) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation by Thursday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Questions about Chinese name?  2) Turn in your Chinese name writing assignment.  3) Quick review and teach new characters with terms (你, 我, 是, 好, 他, 她, 們/们, 老, 師/师,你們, 我們/们, 她們/们, 他們/们, 老師們/老师们).  4) Make up work (2P: Jennifer—6 characters writing assignment + consonant quiz #6; 7P: Kelley—consonant quiz 6/Jennifer—Lesson 3 character worksheet/Syam+ Alissa: Chinese name).  5) Return papers.  6) (2P only) Confirm your e-mail address and Chinese name by signing your English name, please.
  2. 1) Dictation (sh, r).  2) Teach (z, c).

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/18/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese writing and paper-cuts folk art.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Finish paper cut pattern.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your 8-character writing assignment.  2) Quick review and teach new terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, 日, 月, 木, 山, 人, 口, 火, 水, Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Tong Xue Men Hao).
  2. 1) Culture reading: Chinese writing.  2) Showcase Chinese publications and seals.
  3. 1) (3P only) DVD: Chinese Civilizations and Arts.  2) Cut paper pattern: Longevity.  Finish it as homework tonight.
