Procedure for HS Chinese III (10/19/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can name various school subjects. 2) I can describe weather condition about a city.

功课: 1) Search and collect all pictures used for your project.  2) Work on your scripts/text.  Product due: Monday, 10/24/11.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Work at Red Lab tomorrow.  2) Showcase student work sample from previous years.  3) Take one copy of /go over Glogster set up instruction sheet.
  2. Video clip: Everything You Need to Know about China in 10 minutes.

 Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/19/11)

Objectives: 1) I can tell the difference among sh, r, c, z and s consonants.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about the structure and functions of Chinese names and the way Chinese students address their teacher.  3) I can know the expectation of an upcoming art project.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables.  2) Greeting terms/Classroom expressions: due next Monday, 10/24/11.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) (2P: Laura, Josh, Andrew J., Jamie, T.J.; 7P: Amari, Noah, Julia, Jennifer, Syam)—talk to Ms. Chang, please.  3) Makeup work (2P: Jennifer—6 characters writing assignment / Joy, Lance, Brynne: Chinese name writing assignment; 7P: Jennifer—Lesson 3 character worksheet / Kelley + John: Chinese name writing assignment; Syam + Alissa: Chinese name).  4) (7P) Confirm your e-mail address and Chinese name by signing your English name, please.—Do not feel frustrated when you have to rewrite your Chinese name, please.

  3. 1) Cultural reading: text pages 14-15.  2) Brainstorm art project of greeting terms/Classroom Expressions.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/19/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can explore Chinese paper-cutting folk art.  3) (5P) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese pronunciation.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return 8-character writing assignment. 2) Quick review and teach new terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, 日, 月, 木, 山, 人, 口, 火, 水, Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Tong Xue Men Hao, Dong Le Ma, Dong Le, Bu Dong).
