Procedures for 10/26/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (10/26/11)—after school

目标 (MùBiāo): I can talk about illness, read medical instructions and write notes of absence.

功课: 1) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.  2) Read text passages on pages 79-80 on Thursday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your celebration project with checklist, please.  2) Work in media center this Thursday, 10/27/11.
  2. 1) Quick review (病, 搞, 痛, 吐, 燒/烧, 生病, <body part >痛, 發燒/发烧, 舒服 ó 不舒服, 怎麼/么搞的, 覺/觉得, 糟糕, 快, 該/该, 起床, 上學/学, 上廁/厕所, 想 < verb >, 還/还有, 得, 我看, 不要, 等一下).  2) Teach new characters with terms (量, 肚, 拉, 瀉/泻, 體/体, 體/体溫, 肚子, 上學/学, 上班, 上廁/厕所, 上圖書館/图书馆, 拉肚子, 看醫/医生, 哪裡/里).
  3. Go over text passages on pages 79-80.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (10/26/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can describe and present a city’s weather condition by applying technology to create a PowerPoint, video, Publisher, or Glogster product.  2) I can name various school subjects.  3) I can talk about school subject preferences.

功课: Practice conversation and reading text passages.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Vocabulary quiz: Monday, 10/31/11.  Reading comprehension quiz: Wednesday, 11/2/11.  Class schedule quiz: Friday, 11/4/11.  2) Draw a number for your 2nd quarter seat.  3) Weather project presentation (Heidi).
  2. 1) Quick review (数学/數學, 科学/學, 化学/學, 英文 = 英语/語, 美术/術, 生物, 音乐/樂, 中文= 汉语/漢語, 体/體, 育, 地理, 物理).  2) Teach new characters (猜, 歷, 史, 知道, 怎麼/么, 為什麼/为什么).
  3. 1) Read text passages on pages 1-2.  2) Practice simple conversation questions (你今天有什麼/么課/课?  你第#節/节是什麼/么課/课?  你上/下一節/节是什麼/么課/课?  你喜歡/欢什麼/么課/课?  你不喜歡/欢什麼/么課/课?)
  4. View a video for pair conversation.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (10/26/11)

Objectives: 1) I can comprehend basic greeting terms in Chinese.  2) I can sight read Chinese pinyin sentences fluently.

Homework: WB pages 10-13, if not completed in class.

Procedure:

  1. Makeup work (2P: Joy, T.J., Jennifer, Alexander, Jonah, Jamie—mini art project; 7P: Kelley).
  2. 1) Seat work WB pages 10-13 / quiz each other on basic greeting terms & classroom expressions ó 2) oral quiz.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/26/11)

Objectives: 1) I can count from 0 to 100 in Chinese.  2) I can make a pinwhere origami.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese school systems.

Homework: 1) Review learned numbers and characters.  2) Review counting principle.  Be prepared for a quiz of connecting the dots.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Missing assignment (3P: Steven G.—2 assignments, Jason, Katherine F., Matt K., Kevin, Tatiana, Alexia, Steven Z., Morissa; 5P: Emma) 2) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi, ling, bai, 一, 二, 三, 四, 五, 六, 七, , 八, 九, 十, 零, 百, 日, 月, 山, 木, 口, 人, 火, 水).  3) Count numbers from 0 to 100.
  2. Culture reading: Chinese school system.
  3. Origami: pinwheel.  Collect for grades tomorrow.
