Procedures for 11/3/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (11/2/11)-after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about sickness; I can follow medical instructions; I can write notes of absence.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.

功课: 1) Practice reading text passages on page 79-80.  Due by next Tuesday.  2) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.  3) WB pages 61-62.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. Teach new characters and terms (摊/攤, 刨, 次, 粒, 药/藥, 摊开/攤開, 小吃摊/攤, 刨, 刨木/頭, 吃药/藥).
  2. Go over text pages 79-80.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/3/11)

Objectives: I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese legendary stories.

Homework: 1) Practice schedule dialogue.  2) Round robin reading pages 1-2.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your skit draft and WB, please.  2) Welcome our guest speaker, Dr. Ting Shen, from U. of Mount Union.
  2. Special topic, “Legend of Chinese Culture.”
  3. Q/A session.

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/3/11)

Objectives: 1) I can identify someone, state my or other’s age and welcome people.  2) I can tell difference among compound vowels.  3) I can sight read Chinese pinyin sentences.

Homework: 1) Review learned characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.  2) Review learned syllables and pinyin sentences.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Collect any field trip permission slip??  Makeup work (2P: Brynne; 7P: Kelley, Jennifer, Amari–worksheet).  2) Captains check Lesson Four character definitions.  3) Return papers.  4) Review common writing mistakes (再, 兰, 李, 明).  5) Chinese Club officers.  6) (2P: Dan, Alex, James, Jennifer, Jonah, Laura; 7P: Lauren, Amari, Michael) talks to Ms. Chang after class, please.
  2. 1) Teach Review Sounds 1 packet pages 3-4.  2) Teach compound vowels (ei, ou).  3) (7P) Teach new characters with terms (誰, 馬, 克, 白, 啊).

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/3/11)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself and my family in Chinese.  2) I can say my birthday in Chinese.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese painting and the Great Wall of China.

Homework: Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, sui, jia, you, ge ren, liang, he). 2) Teach new terms (sheng ri, nian, yue, ri).  3) Teach Chinese date format vs. English date format.
  2. 1) Build sentence #5.  2) Pair practice reading sentences #1-#5.  (5P) Collect draft #1.
  3. 1) (2P) News paper hunting activity.  2) DVD: Chinese painting and New Year painting/The Great Wall of China.
