Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/9/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about preferences of school subjects, exam preparation and exam result.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.  3) I can acquire best practical study strategies for my learning.

功课: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 3-5 (Round Robin reading: Friday).  2) WB pages 11/13.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Parent-teacher conference tomorrow 4-6 p.m.  2) Return skit papers.  3) Turn in your WB.
  2. 1) Explain terms (非常好 => 很好 / 很棒 => 好 / 不錯 => 还/還好 = 还/還可以 => 不好 => 很差; 还没, 好好儿兒).  2) Read text passages on pages 4-5.  2) Go over Reading comprehension quiz.  3) Review self-assessment worksheet and discuss study strategies used in the future


Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/9/11)

Objectives: 1) I can identify people, state people’s age, and welcome people.  2) I can tell the difference among compound vowels.

Homework: 1) Review syllables for compound quiz tomorrow.  2) Write new characters.  Know their meaning and pronunciation.


  1. 1) Captains check WB page 23 (Section B), 24-25.  2) Go over answer key.  3) Return/Review self-assessment worksheet.   4) Confirm field trip information.
  2. 1) Dictation (uo, ua).  2) Teach (ue).  3) Practice reading text passages on pages 23/25.
  3. 1) Teach new characters with terms (欢/歡, 迎).  2) Song time (Beijing Olympics Theme Song/Beijing Welcomes You).



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/9/11)

Objectives: 1) I can name colors in Chinese.  2) I can express my preferences of animals and sports.  3) I can talk about myself and my family.

Homework: 1) Review learned color terms.  2) Practice reading your 9 sentences.


  1. 1) Quick review (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).  2) Teach new terms (xi huan, lu se, lan se, cheng se, zong se).
  2. 1) Pass out / go over sports and animals handouts.  Supplementary terms?  2) Build sentences #8-9.  3) Read sentences #1-9.
