Procedure for HS Chinese IV (11/28/11)—after school
目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can describe illness symptoms. 2) I can read medical instructions. 3) I can write notes of absence.
功课: 1) Lesson Six chapter test Part I: Monday, 12/5/11. 2) Write new characters. 3) WB page 73—by Wednesday.
程序 (ChéngXù):
- 1) Return papers. 2) Quick review (假条/條, 请/請病假, 请/請事假, 流鼻水, 给/給). 3) Teach new characters with terms (让讓, 些, 好(一)点/點沒有? = 好(一)点/點了嗎, 好些了 = 好多了, 不去 沒不, 可以).
- Go over text passages on page 82-83.
Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/28/11)
目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can introduce my school. 2) I can state duration of an action. 3) I can read sentences fluently.
功课: 1) Round robin reading (pages 14-15): Friday, 12/2/11. 2) WB page 14. 3) Write new characters.
程序 (ChéngXù):
1. 1) return papers. 2) Quick review (合, 女, 男, 千. 新来的/新來的, 以前, 女子, 男子, 只有, 男女合校, 合作, 习/習, 久, 利, 虎, 学习/學習, 自习/習, 多久, 很久, 不久, 流利, 老虎, 马马虎虎/馬馬虎虎). 4) Read text passages on pages 14-15. 5) Makeup work (Michaela, Brad).
2. Teach new characters with terms (意, 思, 哦, 借, 小意思, 多了, 不到, 课/課文).
3. 1) Go over text passage on page 16. 2) Model simple group Q/A session for semester oral exam. 3) Brainstorm criteria for music video.
Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/28/11)
Objectives: 1) I can create a skit to greet, introduce and welcome people. 2) I can name school supplies. 3) I can tell the differences among various compound vowels. 4) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently.
Homework: 1) Study for compound vowels quiz tomorrow. 2) Write new characters.
Procedure:
- 1) Take one copy of Review Sounds 2 packet. Oral quiz (pages 1-2): Friday, 12/2/11. Chinese Club meeting: tomorrow, Tuesday, 11/29/11. 2) (2P) Return pictures/papers/jump drive. 3) Makeup work (2P: Lance, Jamie, Jennifer, James, Jonah; 7P: Michael, Mason, Justin, Amari, Noah, Jennifer). 4) Quick review (尺, 笔/筆, 刀, 剪, 刀子, 剪刀).
- 1) Go over Compound Vowels handout (u, w). 2) Go over Review Sounds 2 packet page 1.
- 1) Dictation. 2) (7P) Skit presentation.
Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/28/11)
Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms. 2) I can acquire geographic knowledge about China.
Homework: 1) Signature slip due tomorrow. 2) Review learned terms.
Procedure:
- 1) Collect signature slip, if any. 2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi). 3) Pass out / Go over China reading packet.
- 1) Teach new terms (Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi). 2) Cultural reading: The country: China (page 1).
- Individual/Pair work: China reading packet, if time allows.
