Procedures for 11/30/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (11/30/11)—before/after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can write notes of absence.  2) I can follow medical instruction.

功课: 1) WB pages 64/68, 70 (#5-#6, #8), 71 (#3, #7) by Friday.  2) Study sentence patterns on page 88.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Check WB page 65.  2) Listening activity: WB page 72. Go over answer key.
  2. Go over WB page 73 (一整天, 已经/經, 巧克力).

Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/30/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): I can talk about my school life.

功课: 1) Write new characters.  2) WB pages 15/18.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Take one copy of song lyrics and one copy of supplementary terms.  2) Midterm: 7:30-9:00 a.m., Thursday, 1/19/11.  3) Go over common mistakes in WB page 14.  4) Pass out Tangram pieces and assemble two more diagrams.  5) Read text pages 14-15.

2.   Teach new characters with terms (业/業, 忘, 带/帶, 向, 作业/業, 课业/業, 方向).

3.   Class work: make sentences and interview: WB page 16-17.

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/30/11)

Objectives: 1) I can name school supplies.  2) I can tell the differences among various front nasal sounds.  3) I can sight read pinyin sentences.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice oral conversation.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Dictation.  2) Go over Front Nasal Sound handout.  3) Individual reading: Review Sounds 2 packet pages 1-2.
  2. 1) Quick review (尺, 笔/筆, 毛笔/筆, 刀子, 剪刀, 书/書, 书/書包, 橡皮, 这/這, 那).  2) Teach new characters (什, 么/麼, 吗/嗎, 的, 我的, 你的, 他的, 她的, 我們的, 你們的, 他們的, 他們的).
  3. Pair practice (这/這是, 那是) 什么/麼 ó (这/這是, 那是) with items.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/30/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can gain geographical knowledge about major cities in China.

Homework: 1) Complete Chinese character writing.  2) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your China reading packet.  2) Quick review (Ni Hao Wo Shi, Ni Shi, Zai Jian, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Zao, Ni Zaho, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao).  3) Teach new terms (Wu An, Wan An, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi).
  2. 1) Culture reading: Introduction to China (page 2).  2) (5P) DVD: General introduction to China.
  3. 1) Pass out/go over square papers.  2) Teach Chinese characters (ri, yue).
