Procedure for HS Chinese IV (11/22/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can sight read text passages (pages 79-81) fluently.  2) I can initiate and sustain a 3-minute conversation.  3) I can create a skit to give directions.  4) I can use negotiation strategies to interpret unfamiliar text passages.

  1. Check WB pages 61-62, 70 (#1-#5, #7) and 71 (#1-#4, #6, #8).
  2. 1) Final review of your skit (directions).  2) Read text passages on pages 79-81.
  3. 1) Reading comprehension quiz.  2) Lesson Six Chapter test part I.  3) Oral quiz: sustain a 3-minute conversation.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/22/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can appreciate and recite ancient Chinese poems.  2) I can learn and perform a Chinese song.

2.   1) Go to http://www.npm.gov.tw/exh96/orientation/flash_4/index.html (click click three squares around palace gate, horse back, and boat bow.  Google “Along the River During the Ching-ming Festival” or “清明上河圖”and do some research.  Write down special features about this famous painting.  Collect.  2) Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEYeObzRmOM to see animation of some Chinese characters for weather.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/22/11)

Objectives: 1) I can create a skit to greet, introduce and welcome people.  2) I can identify people and state ages.  3) I can name common school supplies.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Compound vowels quiz: Tuesday, 11/29/11.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Turn in your skit printout and checklist.  2) Makeup work (2P: Chloe, Joy, Angel, James, Alex / Brynne; 7P: Jennifer).  3) Skit performance.
  2. (2P) Go over answer to “Guess Who He/She Is”.
  3. (7P) Teach new characters with terms (书/書, 包, 毛, 橡, 皮, 皮包, 包子, 书/書包, 包書/书, 毛笔/筆).

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/22/11)

Objectives: 1) I can explain what Hanyu Pinyin is.  2) I can say simple greeting terms.  3) I can understand Ms. Chang’s grading policy and classroom rules.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms and Hanyu Pinyin handout.  2) Signature slip due next Tuesday, 11/29/11.

Procedure:

1.   1) Go over/Finish up Ms. Chang’s Grading Policy and Classroom Rules.  2) Go over daily routine + housekeeping + daily blog + Progressbook attachments.

2.   Pass out and go over The Introduction to the Hanyu Pinyin/Basic Greeting Expressions handout.

3.   Teach simple greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).
