Procedure for HS Chinese III (11/29/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can state duration of an action.  2) I can name various offices/classrooms in my school.  3) I can carry on simple conversation.  4) I can assemble Tangram pieces and prepare for my Amazing Race tasks.

功课: Practice reading pages 14-15.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one copy of BBHHS floor plan, supplementary terms and one copy of Lesson Two text passages.  2) Turn in your WB.  3) Read text passages on pages 14-15.  4) Go over floor plan.  5) Pass out Tangram pieces and assemble two diagrams (5 pieces into square and triangle).
  2. 1) Group conversation practice.  2) Pair activity: Study BBHHS floor plan..



Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (11/29/11)

Objectives: 1) I can tell the differences among various compound vowels and front nasal sounds.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently.  3) I can name common school supplies.

Homework: 1) Front Nasal Sounds Quiz: Monday, 12/5/11.  2) Review learned syllables.  3) Practice reading pinyin sentences.


  1. 1) Take one copy of Front Nasal Sounds handout.  2) Compound Vowels Quiz.  3) Get list of names in coming for Chinese Club’s origami (2P).  No more flash drives or CD for Ms. Chang’s computer.  4) Video presentation (7P: Westin/Tyler—checking Alyssa+Julia R for grades).  5) Makeup work (2P: Brynne, Jonah, James, Lance, Jamie, Jennifer).
  2. 1) Go over Front Nasal Sounds handout.  2) Go over Review Sounds 2 packet page 2.
  3. Teach new characters with terms (书/書, 包, 橡, 皮, 毛, 书/書包, 毛笔/筆, 包子, 皮包).



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/29/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms.  2) I can acquire geographic knowledge about China.

Homework: Complete China reading packet, if not done in class.  Due tomorrow.


  1. 1) Collect signature slip.  2) Quiz #1, Friday, 12/9/11.  3) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Zai Jian).  4) Teach new terms (Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao).
  2. Go over reading packet
  3. Pair work: Complete reading packet.   Turn in, if finished.
