Procedure for HS Chinese IV (12/1/11)—before and after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can write notes of absence.  2) I can follow medical instruction.

功课: 1) WB pages 64/68, 70 (#5-#6, #8), 71 (#3, #7) by Friday.  2) Write new characters.  3) Study sentence patterns on page 88.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. Teach new characters with terms (祸/禍, 受, 伤/傷, 咱, 听说/聽說, 住院, 车祸/車禍, 咱们/們, 医/醫院).
  2. Go over text passages on page 83.

 

 

Procedure for HS Chinese III (12/1/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can conduct a simple interview.  2) I can make use of radicals to interpret Chinese characters.  3)

功课: Round robin reading tomorrow.  Practice reading text passages on pages 14-15.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Lesson Two chapter test: Wednesday, 12/7/11.  Work on Red Lab: Tuesday, 12/6/11.  2) WB pages 16-17 sharing.   3) Listening activity: WB page 23.  Go over answer key.  4) Read text passages on pages 14-15.
  2. 1) Go over text passages on pages 16-17.  2) Pair work: WB page 19.  Collect your WB.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (12/1/11)

Objectives: 1) I can tell the differences among various front nasal sounds.  2) I can sight read Pinyin sentences fluently.  3) I can name school supplies and I can answer simple Chinese questions.

Homework: 1) Practice reading pinyin sentences.  Quiz tomorrow.  2) Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (2P) Take one copy of Lesson Five text passages slip.  MS Chinese I midterm: Thursday and Friday, 1/12/12 and 1/13/12.  2) Dictation.  3) Go over Front Nasal Vowels handout.  4) Random drawing: Read Review Sounds 2 packet pages 1-2.  5) Makeup work (7P: Noah).
  2. Informal assessment: (identify supplies, Q/A session).
  3. Pair practice 1) Conversation questions.  2) (这/這是, 那是 + possessive) with items.   Q/A (Ms. Chang checks progress) session.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/1/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese language and writing system.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete Chinese character writing.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Monica, Kathryn, Jesse, Panos, Allyson; 5P: Allen, Louis, Raksha).  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, 日, 月).
  2. Teach new terms (Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).
    1. DVD: General introduction to China/Major Cities in China.
  3. Culture reading: pages 3-4.
  4. (5P) Teach new character (yue).
