Procedures for 12/2/11

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (12/2/11)—before/after school

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can follow medical instruction.  2) I can write notes of absence.

功课: 1) Study for your Lesson Six chapter test Part II (Wednesday, 12/7/11).  2) Read text pages 92-93.  3) Read text passages on pages 82-85: by the end of Tuesday, 12/6/11.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Go over text page 84-85/88/90/91.  2) Check WB pages 64, 65, 68, 70 (#5-#6, #8), 71 (#3, #7).

Procedure for HS Chinese III (12/2/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can describe my school life.  2) I can practice making origami for Amazing Race project.  3) I can hold conversations commonly used in the classroom and school grounds.

功课: 1) Study for your chapter test: Wednesday, 12/7/11.  2) Write new characters.  3) WB pages 20-21.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Makeup work (Antonio).  2) WB page 16 sharing.  3) Round robin reading pages 14-15.

2.   Teach new characters with terms (嘘, 过/過, 话/話, 題, 注, 交, 睡过头/睡過頭, 说话/說話, 说大话/說大話, 问题/問題, 注意, 什么时候/什麼時候).

3.   1) Go over text pages 18-19.  2) Make origami, if time allows.




Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (12/2/11)

Objectives: 1) I can name school supplies.  2) I can ask and answer simple questions in Chinese. 3) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently.

Homework: 1) WB pages 27 (Section B)-29, if not completed in class.  2) Practice conversation questions.


  1. 1) Each pair takes one bag of school supplies.  2) Take one copy of conversation questions handout.

2.   Oral quiz ó 1) WB pages 27 (Section B)-29.  2) Q/A practice (bag and conversation handout).



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/2/11)

Objectives: 1) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese pronunciation.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  3) I can write simple Chinese characters.

Homework: Review learned terms.


1.   1) Return China reading packet.  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Lao Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, 日, 月).

2.  1) Teach new terms (Dong le ma, dong le, Bu Dong).  2) Teach new characters (木, 山, 水).

3.   1) Cultural reading: Introduction to Chinese pronunciation (pages 5-6).  2) Showcase Chinese publications / seals.

4.   (5P) DVD: Chinese Civilization and Arts (Calligraphy).
