Procedure for HS Chinese IV (12/8/11)—before/after school

目标 (MùBiāo): I can talk about travel plans, discuss travel preparations and read travel itineraries.

功课: Write new characters.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks Lesson Seven character definitions.  2) Teach new characters with terms (旅, 暑, 算, 安, 旅行, 旅館, 暑假, 寒假, 打算, 算術, 中暑, 一共, 一起).
  2. Go over text passages on pages 94-95.

 Procedure for HS Chinese III (12/8/11)

目标 (MùBiāo): I can master all the terms and sentence patterns about school life.

功课: Lesson Three character definitions.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Two character worksheet.  2) Take one copy of Lesson Three character worksheet.  3) Turn in the letter(s) from your pen pal(s).
  2. Lesson Two chapter test.

 

 Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (12/8/11)

Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences and text passages fluently.  2) I can tell differences among various back nasal sounds.  3) I can hold simple Chinese conversation questions.

Homework: 1) Study Review Sounds 2 pages 3-4.  Oral quiz tomorrow.  2) Review back nasal sounds.

Procedure:

1.   1) Dictation.  2) Go over back nasal sound handout.  3) Individual reading: Review Sounds 2 packet pages 3-4.  4) Go over Review Sounds2 packet page 5.  5) Read text passages on pages 32-35.

2.   1) Conversation practice.  2) Introduce a web site tool: www.cozyChinese.com

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/8/11)

Objectives: 1) I can say/write simple Chinese numbers.  2) I can acquire Chinese cultural knowledge about Chinese lucky/unlucky numbers.  3) I can explore Chinese folk art: paper cuts.

Homework: Review learned terms.  Quiz #1 tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review.  2) Teach new terms with Chinese characters (jiu, shi, ling, bai).
  2. Culture reading: Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.

3.   Cut paper patterns (longevity, double happiness).  Collect as participation grade for tomorrow.
