Procedure for HS Chinese III (1/24/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can give and follow directions.  2) I can gain reading/listening fluency through sight reading text passages and listening to conversation dialogue.  3) I can compare and contrast American and Chinese cultural differences through viewing a Chinese film.

功课: 1) Practice reading text passages on pages 32-33.  2) Watch videos at home for chapter test listening comprehension section.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your WB 35 and Scene 4 Comprehension/Discussion Questions.  2) Go over/Read text passages on pages 32-33.  3) Listening activity: WB page 40 Section R.  Go over answer key.
  2. Review and go over WB page 41 w/common mistakes.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (1/24/12)

Objectives: 1) I can introduce myself and my family.  2) I can compare and contrast Chinese and American cultural differences through viewing a Chinese film.  3) I can sing a Chinese Happy New Year song.

Homework: 1) WB page 36.  2) Practice singing Happy Chinese New Year song.  3) Complete/type your Movie Discussion Questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Audacity makeup work (2P: Andrew Jensen, Ben, James, Brynne, Alex, Jonah; 7P: Abigail, Weston, Kelley, Amari).  Return your audacity slip.  2) Turn in your PPT printout or Google Docs share with Ms. Chang.  Fix all mistakes for full credit, please.  3) Draw and change seats.  4) Go over Lockdown drill procedure.  5) Meet your counselor:  8-Red 6A/8-Gold 6B (A-F Monday, January 23rd, G-L Tuesday, January 24th, M-R Wednesday, January 25th, S-Z Thursday, January 26th, Any absences, Friday January 27th).
  2. 1) Go over PPT/WB pages 34-35 common mistakes.  2) Get digital pictures for each of your family members.
  3. 1) Song time.  2) Movie time.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/24/12)

Objectives: 1) I can explain what Hanyu Pinyin is.  2) I can say simple greeting terms.  3) I can understand Ms. Chang’s grading policy and classroom rules.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms and Hanyu Pinyin handout.  2) Signature slip due next Thursday, 11/26/11.

Procedure:

1.   1) (3P) Go over/Finish up Ms. Chang’s Grading Policy and Classroom Rules.  (5P) Finish up the Student Inventory worksheet.  Collect.  2) Makeup work (3P: Marissa; 5P: Gabriella, Daniel).  3) Meet with your counselors during their lunch study hall.  Go directly to the media center.  4) Go over lockdown drill procedure.

2.   Pass out and go over The Introduction to the Hanyu Pinyin/Basic Greeting Expressions handout.

3.   Teach simple greeting terms (3P: Ni Hao; 5P: Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).
