Procedure for HS Chinese IV (1/30/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can say Chinese good wishes expressions to people who travel.  2) I can sight read text passages.

功课: 1) Study for your Lesson Seven chapter test: Friday, 2/3/12.  Turn in your Lesson Seven character worksheet accordingly.   2) WB pages 83/85.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Seven study guide.  2) Turn in your WB pages 79 (#7-8), 80 and 82.  3) Go over text passages on page 106 and WB page 83.
  2. 1) Listening activity: WB page 84.  Go over the answer key.  2) Read text passages on pages 97-98.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (1/30/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can prepare for my Lesson Three chapter test.  2) I can verbally give directions.  3) I can sight read text passages.

功课: 1) Lesson Three character worksheet due tomorrow.  2) Study for your chapter test.  3) Chapter test oral part due by the end of class on Wednesday.  No exception!!

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one copy of word bank.  2) Chapter test moves to Wednesday due to Freshmentoring. One administrator will cover Ms. Chang.  3) Study Guide missed links to 4 videos for listening comprehension (links posted on 1/24/12 and 1/25/12 blogs).  4) Turn in all course registration form by Thursday, 2//9/12.  5) Makeup work (Michaela, Brad, Jay—return: WB page 35).  6) Go over common character mistakes (在 ó 左, 学 ó 字, 就).  7) Talk to Ms. Chang if you are interested in being an OFLA Chinese camp counselor and work with 4-6th graders in the summer.
  2. Class activity: practice writing sample w/word bank on SmartBoard ó 1) Round robin reading makeup (Cait, Melissa, Wyatt, Colin, Jay, Caelin, Nate, Claire, Ryan).
  3. Lesson Three chapter test oral part: road map.



Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (1/30/12)

Objectives: I can prepare for my Lesson Six chapter test.

Homework: 1) Turn in your Lesson Six characters worksheet tomorrow.  2) Study for your chapter test.


  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Six Study Guide.  2) Makeup work (2P: Ben, Alex, Jonah–audacity; Lance, Andrew J., Ben, T.J., Brynne, Alex, Jonah—PPT draft; Lance, Ben, Travis, Jonah—WB page 36; 7P: Lauren, Jackson, Jennifer, Mason—PPT draft; Noah, Alissa—WB page 36).  3) Go over Study Guide.  4) Go over WB page 40.
  2. Pass out word bank slip.  Practice writing examples.



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/30/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete rows for Chinese characters.


  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Reed, Jorja, Sarah, Alanna, Carly; 5P: Julia, Xander).  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian, Zhang Lao Shi, Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Wu An, Wan An, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, ri).  3) Teach new terms (Shang Ke, Xia Ke).
  2. Culture reading: page 3.
  3. Teach Chinese characters (ri, yue, mu, mountain).
