Procedures for 2/1/12

Procedure for HS Chinese III (2/1/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about modes of transport, distances, travel times, as well as give directions.  2) I can prepare for the Amazing Race project.

功课: 1) Lesson Four character definitions.  2) Practice folding origamii, and assemble tangram pieces.  3) Review places, weather, clothes items, colors, fruits, math operators, money terms, date, time, puzzles and various room names.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Three character worksheet.  2) Take one copy of Lesson Four character worksheet.  3) Mr. DeTray will cover while Ms. Chang moves to Mrs. Chen’s classroom.
  2. Lesson Three chapter test ó Prepare for your oral exam (Caelan, Kristen, Adam, Cait, Wyatt, Colin, Heidi, Melissa) after class and/or after school.  Last day today (two chances).
  3. 1) Complete Lesson Four character definitions.  2) Practice origami and tangram activities.

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (2/1/12)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my pets.  2) I can review my work for better understanding of previous learned terms.

Homework: Write new characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Captains check character definitions.  2) Makeup work (2P: Lance—worksheet; Colin: makeup chapter test; 7P: Amari—worksheet/chapter test/definitions/interview sharing; Weston: interview sharing).  3) Return papers.  4) Go over common mistakes (家, 爸, 哥, 姐, 弟, 姓, 人, 字, water and female radicals).  5) Chinese Club group picture: Friday, at the end of 1P.  6) Go over Lesson Seven.
  2. 1) Teach new characters with terms (狗, 马/馬, 猫/貓, 鸟/鳥, 金, 鱼/魚, 金鱼/魚).

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/1/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about China.  3) I can explore Chinese folk art of paper cutting.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Paper cut patterns due tomorrow, if not complete in class.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Jamie, Marko, Ryan; 5P: Gabriella, Chloe, Kirsten).  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zhang Lao Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao, Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Qi Li, Jiang Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).  2) Teach new terms (Lao Shi Hao, Tong Xue Men Hao, Dong Le ma, Dong Le, Bu Dong).
  2. 1) Culture reading: text pages 4-5.  2) Showcase seals, brush pens, xuan paper, ink stick, & ink stone.
  3. Pass out paper cut patterns.  Class activity: cut out longevity paper pattern.  Collect for grades.
