Procedure for HS Chinese IV (2/6/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): I can write a diary entry, a note for the bulletin board and a letter using advanced language on a variety of topics.

功课: 1) Write new characters 2) Practice reading text passages on page 108.  3) Make sentences (逛街, 一起, 因為/为..所以, 以為/为, 一點/点都不 < adjective >).  Due on Wednesday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Return WB/worksheet.  2) Review terms (今天, 明天, 後/后天, 前天, 昨天, 大前天, 大後/后天, 日記/记, 忘記/记= 不記/记得 ó 記/记得, 星期, 天氣/气, 氣/候, 生日, 過/过生日, 晴, 陪, 請/请, 逛街, 一起, 一定, 一共, 因為/为..所以, 以為/为, 意思, 小意思, 沒意思, 真/很有意思, 還/还有, 一點/点都不 < adjective >)
  2. Teach new characters with terms (複, 複習/复习, 參/参加,).
  3. < verb > 得很/不 < adjective >: 說得很好, 說得不好, 說得很不好, 說得很差, 打得很好, 打得不好, 打得很不好, 打得很差, 長得很像, 長得很大, 長得很高, …
  4. < verb > 了 < time period>: has/have done an action for a duration of time: 住了兩年, 學/学了四年, 寫/写了一小时, etc.

 Procedure for HS Chinese III (2/6/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can compare and contrast American and Chinese cultural differences through watching a Chinese movie.  2) I can create a skit to give/follow directions.

功课: Typed skit draft due Wednesday, 2/8/12; Skit presentation: Monday, 2/13/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Completed, signed 2012-13 course selection worksheets are due in 1P class on Thursday, 2/9/12.  You risk losing course choices for next year if your worksheets are missing or incomplete.  2) Course recommendation form???

3) Spirit Week – 2/6 Monday: Pajama Day   – 2/7 Tuesday: Dress for a Cause –  Pick your favorite – breast  cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and wear a T-shirt with the logo or the color of the cause!  – 2/8 Wednesday: Pick your favorite fad from the past. Tie Dye, Neon, Shoulder pads, bell bottoms!  – 2/9 Thursday: Class Color Day – Teachers wear Blue for Blue Ribbon school! – 2/10 Friday: Spirit Day – Crimson and Gold and Bees!  3) Department Chair, Mrs. Barzis will visit our class tomorrow.

2.   1) Return/explain papers (chapter test, Scenes 5-6).  2) Go over scene 7 discussion questions.

3.   1) Pass out/go over skit choices.  2) Pair work: brainstorm ideas / lay down sentences (tomorrow ten more minutes).  Type your draft in Red Lab on Wednesday.

4.   Movie time.

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (2/6/12)

Objectives: 1) I can talk/write about pets.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.  3) I can compare and contrast Chinese and American cultural differences through viewing a Chinese movie.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text passages on page 54.  3) Draft for pets due tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Seven text passages.  2) Quick review.  3) Practice reading text passages on page 54.  4) Clarify Pet paragraph—what kind and how many pets do you have? What is your pet’s name?  How old is your pet?
  2. Review/Teach new terms (大 ó 小, 凶/兇, 可, 爱/愛, 爱/愛好, 凶/兇 ó 可爱/愛, 可是, 大小, 愛/愛人, 大人, 小人, 老人, 只是, 只有, 是 <=> 不是, 有 ó 沒有).
  3. Conversation time.  Q/A session.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/6/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say/write simple Chinese number characters.  2) I can use chopsticks to hold food.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about the legend of pandas.

Homework: Review learned syllables and characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (greetings unit).  2) Quiz #1.   3) Quiz #2: Monday, 2/13/12.
  2. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si, wu).  2) Teach new terms (3P: liu; 5P: liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi) and characters.
  3. 1) Cultural reading: Legend of Pandas.  2) Pass out chopsticks for practice.
