Procedures for 3/5/12

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (3/5/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can prepare for Lesson Eight chapter test.  2) I can understand the structure of my new textbook.  3) I can reflect on my writing mistakes and edit them for final work.

功课: 1) Study for your Lesson Eight chapter test: Wednesday, 3/7/12.  2) Turn in your Lesson Eight vocabulary worksheet: Wednesday, 3/7/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Take one copy of Lesson Eight Study Guide.  2) Return papers (comic strip).  3) Sign out for your Ni Hao 4 textbook, if you have a book cover ready.  4) Go over turned-in work and study guide.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (3/5/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can prepare for Lesson Four chapter test.  2) I can compare and contrast Chinese and American cultural and societal differences through watching a Chinese movie.

功课: 1) Scenes 22-28 Movie Discussion Questions and Lesson Four Vocabulary Worksheet due on Wednesday, 3/7/12.  2) Study for your Lesson Four chapter test: Wednesday, 3/7/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Four chapter test study guide.  2) Return papers (question statements).  3) Makeup work (Michaela, Heidi, Brad, Antonio).
  2. 1) Go over answers to WB page 54.  2) Go over study guide.  3) Culture reading: text pages 54-55.
  3. 1) Movie time.  2) Practice writing samples.

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (3/5/12)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about language proficiency.  2) I can use question words for places.  3) I can sing a Chinese song.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers (movie discussion questions).  2) (2P) Take one copy of Professions handout.  3) Makeup work (2P: Alex, T.J., Andrew B.; movie discussion questions: Chloe, Joy, Josh, T.J., Alex; 7P: Kelley, Maddy, Jennifer, Amari—2, Justin, Alissa).
  2. 1) (2P) Go over Professions handout.  2) Teach new characters with terms (会/會, 不会/會, 说/說, 里/裡, 这里/這裡, 那里/裡, 哪里/裡; (7P only) 对/對, 起, 不对/對, 对/對不起, 一起).  3) Teach sentence pattern < someone > 会说/會說 < language >.
  3. (7P) 1) Conversation practice.  2) Song time “我的朋友在哪裡”.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/17/12)

Objectives: 1) I can define Hanyu pinyin.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  3) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules.

Homework: 1) Signature slip due on Thursday, 2/8/12.  2) Quiz #1: Friday, 3/16/12.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Allison; 5P: Sean, Brenden).  2) Team assignment (3P: Juliette; 5P: Sean, Brenden); 3) Go over Ms. Chang’s Classroom Rules.
  2. Pass out/Go over Introduction to Hanyu Pinyin.
  3. Teach new terms (3P: Ni Hao; 5P: Ni Hao, Ni Shi).
