Procedures for 3/9/12

Procedure for HS Chinese III (3/9/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can describe and compare people and/or objects with adjectives.  2) I can explore and utilize two websites to help my video presentation title/topic.

功课: 写新生字。

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.  1) Clarification (OGT week).  2) Project expectations (mouth movements ó no separation recording in cooking…>.  3) Introduce 2 websites to explore: a) http://www.singchinesesongs.com/, b) http://www.ytower.com.tw/recipe/recipe.asp .

2.  Teach new characters with terms (长/長, 较/較, 高, 矮, 像, 好久不見, 比, 比较/較).  2) Teach sentence patterns (A比B < adjective >, A/B 比较/較 < adjective >).

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (3/9/12)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my nationality and language proficiency.  2) I can comprehend Chinese through viewing video segments.

Homework: 1) Write new characters.  2) Practice reading text pages 68-69.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (2P) Take one copy of revised text passage slip.  2) Makeup work (2P: Joy, Lance, Alex, Jonah, Brynne—WB page 51; Joy, T.J., Brynne, Colin, Alex, Jonah—5 sentences; Alex: movie discussion questions;  7P: Kelley, Jennifer, Alissa—movie discussion questions; Alissa/Abigail—WB page 51 + 5 sentences).  3) Return 5-sentence draft.  4) Model UN students’ assignments for next Monday/Tuesday (WB pages 53-54, text pages 70-72, 74-76).
  2. 1) Read text passages on page 68.  2) Teach new characters (得, 汉/漢, 语/語, 汉语/漢語 = 中文, 英语/語 = 英文, 德语/語 = 德文, 日语/語 = 日文).  3) Teach sentence pattern: text page 72.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/9/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can acquire Chinese cultural, geographical and historical knowledge about China.

Homework: Review learned terms.  2) Complete rows of Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Bliss, Jacob—signature slip; 5P: James, Seth, Maisy, Jose—signature slip).  2) Show 5P E/I reporting classroom.  3) Collect homework: China reading packet.  4) (5P) Introduce Ms. Chang’s daily blog.
  2. 1) Quick review (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Zai Jian, Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao,  Zao Shang Hao).  2) Teach new (Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An).  2) Culture reading: China (pages 2-3).  3) DVD: Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing.
  3. Pass out/go over square papers.
