Procedure for HS Chinese III (3/12/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): I can utilize two web sites to finalize a song or a recipe for my video presentation.

功课: 1) Finalize your song or cooking recipe.  2) Convert lyrics/cooking procedure into Hanyu pinyin.  Rewrite all phrases/sentences into simple, manageable Chinese sentences by this Friday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Sorry for not having headsets for everyone.  Media center has very limited left due to OGT week.  Please use your own or listen to the video quietly.  For those who plan to make a cooking video, please get one copy of translation (receipt site) from Ms. Szell.  We will go over rubric next Monday, 3/19/12.
  2. 1) Log onto http://www.singchinesesongs.com/ or http://www.ytower.com.tw/recipe/recipe.asp to check out songs or recipes that you are interested in.   2) Use http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php to look up any unfamiliar character/terms.
  3. If you prefer, you can also create a news show to report weather forecast, international news, entertainment, sports, local news, etc.  Talk to Ms. Chang for details, please.

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (3/12/12)

Objectives: 1) I can use a new sentence pattern to express language proficiency.  2) I can name Mandarin Chinese with various terms.  3) (7P) I can discuss and share opinions about a movie with my peers.

Homework: WB page 53.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  2) Makeup work (2P: Alex—movie discussion questions; Brynne: 5-sentence draft; 7P: Alissa-5 sentences and WB page 51).  3) Report to the front auditorium for a positive character presentation during E/I tomorrow.
  2. 2) Listening activity: WB page 50 Section B.  Go over the answer key.  2) Seat work: WB page 50 Section C.
  3. 1) Read text passages on pages 66-69.  2) Teach sentence patter on pages 70-72.  3) Reading: text pages 74-76.
  4. (7P) 1) Culture reading: page 76.  2) Movie discussion questions sharing, if time allows.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/12/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can hold chopsticks to pick up food

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete writing Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Bliss—2, Jacob, Brianna, Ally, Zach; 5P: Seth, Maisy, Steelley).  2) All 8th graders report to the front auditorium for a positive character presentation during E/I tomorrow.   3) Quick review.  4) Teach new terms (Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).
  2. 1) Teach Chinese characters (Ri).  2) Chopsticks practice.
