Procedures for 3/28/12

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (3/28/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about my holiday and how I enjoyed it.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.  3) I can build grammatically correct sentences from scrambled sentences.

功课: 1) Read 3rd/4th paragraphs by Thursday, 3/29/12.  2) Oral conversation quiz: next Tuesday, 4/3/12.  3) WB pages 2/6, by next Tuesday, 4/3/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Pass out sentence patterns review handout 1.  2) Turn in your WB page 4.  3) Read 4th / 5th text passages on page 2.
  2. 1) Conversation questions practice.  2) Class work: WB page 5.  Continue tomorrow.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (3/28/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can share my 5-sentence paragraph with a picture.  2) I can get familiar with adjectives and adverbs that can be used to introduce myself (physical appearance, various interests and personalities).  3) I can sight read sentences fluently.

功课: 1) Practicing reading text pages 63-65.  2) Finalize your video production.  Script draft due tomorrow.  3) 10 sentences about you due Monday, 4/2/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Take one set of adjectives/adverbs handout and one set of Chinese III sentence patterns review sheet.  2) Collect donation for LL.  3) Show current interview questions and turn in makeup interview questions (Wyatt, Colin, Brad, Michaela, Caelan, Cait, Kate, Adam, Nate).  4) Turn in your WB pages 60-61.
  2. 1) Pair activity: review adjective/adverbs handout with a partner.  2) Read text passages on pages 63-65.  3) Class activity: rotate station and share your 5-sentnece paragraph.




Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (3/28/12)

Objectives: 1) I can ask questions about sports and express my preferences of sports.  2) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit.

Homework: 1) WB page 56.  2) Practice reading text pages 77-78.  3) Lesson Nine chapter test: Thursday, 4/5/12.


  1. 1) Quick review.  2) (2P) Complete checking WS.  3) (7P) Check student work
  2. 1) Teach new characters with terms (打, 踢, 打球, 打工, 打人, 打字, 踢球, 运/運, 动/動, 最, 运/運球, 动/動物).  2) Read text passages on page 77-78.
  3. Seat work: skit time.



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/28/12)

Objectives: 1) I can build sentences for my oral presentation and I know the expectations of my oral presentation.  2) (5P) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese school systems.  3) (5P) I can count from zero to one hundred.  4) I can name family members in Chinese.

Homework: Review learned terms.


  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Peter W.,–quiz & WS, Raman: 12-character writing assignment).  2) (5P) Count from 0 to 100.  3) Pass out/go over oral presentation handout. Prepare your draft paper.  4) Teach new terms (baba, mama, ge ge, di di, jie jie, mei mei, sui).  5) Due dates for art project / oral presentation: April 18 / April 19.   6) (3P) Tornado drill at 9:45 am today.   7) Return quiz paper and 12-character writing assignment.
  2. 1) Compose sentences #1 and #2.  Practice reading sentences.  2) (5P) Culture reading: Chinese schools.
