Procedure for HS Chinese IV (3/29/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about my holiday and how I enjoyed it.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.  3) I can build grammatically correct sentences from scrambled sentences.

功课: 1) Oral quiz: next Tuesday, 4/3/12.   Lesson One Part I chapter test: Thursday, 4/5/12.  2) WB pages 2/6: Tuesday, 4/3/12.

程序 (ChéngXù):

1.   1) Return WB page 4.  2) Complete WB page 5.  3) Oral conversation practice.

2.   Sight read 4th/5th text passages on text page 2.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (3/29/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can ask and answer simple Chinese questions.  2) I can construct sentences to introduce myself with details on physical appearance, various interests and personality traits.  3) I can sharpen my listening skill through listening to audio files.  4) I can sight read text passages fluently.

功课: 1) Complete writing 10 sentences about yourself.  Due next Monday.  2) Review possible presentation topics.  Mini quiz (from presentation / interview tomorrow): Monday, 4/2/12.  3) WB page 62.  4) Your video presentation file, checklist and hard copy due tomorrow (except Antonio, Michaela, Caelin, John, Jay, Collin, Wyatt, Heidi, Aashna, Kristen, Lillian).

  1. 1) Get your WB and a set of Chinese II sentence patterns handout.  2) Turn in your video presentation script.  3) Makeup work (Caeland, Michaela, Cait, Kathryn, Wyatt, Colin—interview questions; Melisssa / Colin: WB pages 60/61).
  2. 1) Quick review (高, 矮, 长/長, 短, 比, 比较/較, 像, 好像, 挺, 塌, 胖, 瘦, 苗条/條, 叔叔, 那么/麼, 好久不见/見, 为什么/為什麼, 觉/覺得, 俩/倆, 肥, 奇怪, 减肥, 肥胖, 如果, 不如, 意思, 知道, 头发/頭髮, 眼睛, 鼻子, 个/個子, 幽默, 幽默感, 感觉/覺, 随/隨和, 个/個性, 卷/捲).  2) Review and teach new characters with terms (蛋, 炒蛋, 蛋糕, 冰淇淋, 早餐 = 早饭/飯, 午 餐 = 午饭/飯, 晚餐 = 晚饭/飯, 三餐 = 早餐 + 午餐 + 晚餐, 餐馆/館 = 饭馆 / 飯館, 中餐 ( = 中国/國菜) <=> 西餐, 內人 = 太太, 室內 <=> 室外, 內向 ó 外向).
  3. 1) Read text passages on page 63-65.  2) Pass out/go over presentation topics / interview questions.
  4. Compose sentences about your body built (height) & features (eyes/eye color, nose, face, hair/hair color, mouth, ears, heights, body built, interests, & personality traits).

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 2P/7P (3/29/12)

Objectives: 1) I can comprehend audio dialogues.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently.  3) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit.  4) I can ask and answer questions about my favorite sports.

Homework: 1) WB pages 60-61 / Section G.  2) Round robin reading pages 77-78: tomorrow.  3) Skit (checklist, final script) due tomorrow.  Present starting from next Monday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Take one copy of Lesson Nine text passages.  Captains check WB page 56.  Go over the answer key.  2) Listening activity: WB pages 55 / 57 Section C / page 60 Section F.  Go over the answer key.  3) Read text passages on pages 77-78.
  2. 1) Check students’ work.  2) Interview activity: WB page 59.  Share your result tomorrow.  3) Skit time: finalize/practice your skit.

 

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/29/12)

Objectives: 1) I can construct sentences for my oral presentation.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese school system and zodiac animals.  3) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project.  4) I can practice newly learned Rock, Scissors and Cloth finger guessing game.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences #1-#4.  2) Finalize your art project themes and terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (baba, mama, ge ge, di di, jie jie, mei mei, sui).  2) Teach terms (jia, you, ge ren, you, he).  3) Build sentences #3-#4.  4) Practice reading sentences #1-#4.
  2. 1) (5P) Showcase PPT art project sample.  2) Finger guessing game: Rock, Scissors, and Cloth.
