Procedures for 5/3/12

Procedure for HS Chinese IV (5/3/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can acquire cultural and historical knowledge about China through viewing a Chinese film.  2) I can sharpen my Chinese listening skill through viewing a Chinese film.

功课: Complete your movie discussion questions.  Due this Friday.

程序 (ChéngXù):

Watch movie and answer comprehension questions in the packet.

Procedure for HS Chinese III (5/3/12)

目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can talk about my travel plan and travel preparation.  2) I can ask and answer simple Chinese conversation questions.

功课: 1) 写/寫新生字。2) WB page 72 (#1, #3, #4, #5) & page 73.  3) Practice conversation questions.

程序 (ChéngXù):

  1. 1) Work in Red Lab tomorrow.  2) Take one copy of traveling project rubric and one copy of conversation questions handout.  2) Go over text passages on page 77.
  2. 1) Review and teach terms (不用, 出去, 不 ó 没).  2) Review and teach new characters with term (程, 行程, 过, 发/發, 出发/發, 观/觀, 参观/觀ó 参加).
  3. 1) Group activity: conversation question practice.  2) Showcase one project sample.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 7P (5/3/12)

Objectives: 1) I can acquire cultural knowledge about China through viewing video clips.  2) I can reinforce my Chinese listening/speaking skills through playing games.  3) I can acquire terms for food.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  Report to Ms. Chang at regular class time next Monday.  2) Teach new characters with terms (牛, 奶, 热/熱, 热/熱狗, 热/熱水, 今天很热/熱, 冰, 冰水, 冰山, 冰棒, 堡, 汉/漢堡 = 汉/堡包).
  2. 1) Conversation practice.  Q/A session.  2) Video clips.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P (5/3/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese folk art of cutting paper.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete rows of Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (3P) 7th graders adopt one 8th grader for peer tutoring tomorrow.  Return papers.  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Hi Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Zai Jian,  Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, Dong Le Ma, Dong Le, Bu Dong).  3) Teach new terms (Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Tong Xue Me Hao).
  2. 1) Culture reading: pages 3-4.  Showcase Chinese publications and seal.  2) Teach Chinese characters (山, 木, 人).  3) DVD: Paper Cut, if time allows.

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can learn to write Chinese characters.    3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese folk art of cutting paper.

  1. 1) (5P) 8th graders help to coach 7th graders, please.  Return papers.  Makeup work—China reading packet (John, Tricia).  2) Quick review (Ni Hao, Hi Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Zai Jian,  Zao, Zao An, Ni Zao, Zao Shang Hao, Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi, Wu An, Wan An, Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, Dong Le Ma, Dong Le, Bu Dong, Shang Ke, Xia Ke, Tong Xue Me Hao).  3) Teach new terms (Dui Bu Qi, Mei Guan Xi).
  2. 1) Quick review (日, 月, 山).  2) Teach new characters (木, 人, 口).  3) DVD: Chinese paper cut, if time allows.
