目标 (MùBiāo): 1) I can create a movie to describe my travel plan, traveling preparation and itinerary.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese scenic spots.  3) I can play interactive game to review learned materials.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (5/9/12)

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese number terms.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese version of rock, scissors and paper game and Chinese yo-yo.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Complete writing rows of Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (yi, er, san, si).  2) Teach new terms and Chinese characters (wu, liu, qi, ba).
  2. 1) (3P) Culture reading: Finger Guessing Game + class tournament activity + DVD: Chinese yo-yo.  2) (5P) Culture reading: DVD: Chinese yo-yo + finger guessing game class activity + chopsticks relay game.

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese number terms.  2) I can explore Chinese children game: tangram pieces.  3) I can play rock, scissors, and paper Chinese version game.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms.  2) Write Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (2P) DVD: Paper-cuts.  2) Teach new terms (yi, er, san, si) with Chinese characters.
  2. 1) Culture reading—rock, scissors and paper game / Chinese tea.  2) Class activity—rock, scissors and paper game.  3) Pass out tangram pieces.  Individual activity.
