Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (9/13/12)

目标: 1) I can describe weather.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can say and make grammatically correct Chinese sentences.  4) I can answer simple conversation questions.

功课: 1) Study top of text page 98.  2) WB pages 78-79.  3) 写/知道新生字 (伞)


  1. 1) Return papers.  2) 唸第九课课文第一段 (duan4).  3) Teach new character (伞).  2) Class activity: present 8 sentences.  Collect.

2.   Oral Q/A.



Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (9/13/12)


Objectives: 1) I can understand Chinese character writing principle.  2) I can discriminate consonants m and f blending with various vowels.  3) I can say numbers in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Complete rows of characters.  2) Review greeting terms handout, China reading packet and text pages 1-6 for exam tomorrow.  3) Write down definitions of all Chinese three new characters on your WS.


1.   1) DVD: Paper cut (剪纸).  2) Teach consonant f.  3) (2P only) Quick review (26 terms + 8 Chinese characters + consonant m).

2.   1) Pass out / go over Lesson Three character worksheet + number table.  2) Teach characters (yi, er, san, si).  3) Pass out / go over Stroke order handout.




Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (9/13/12)


Objectives: 1) I can explore Chinese folk art of cutting paper.  2) I can say numbers in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Complete rows of number Chinese characters.  2) Review learned terms for quiz tomorrow.  3) Review learned numbers.


  1. 1) Collect character writing assignment, if any.  2) Quick review (26 terms + 8 characters).
  2. 1) Pass out square papers and number table.  2) Teach numbers and write characters (yi, er, san, si).
  3. Class activity: cutting longevity paper pattern.  Save for tomorrow.  Count as participation grade.
