Procedures for 10/16/12

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (10/16/12)

目标: 1) I can talk about my classes.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions about weather.  3) I can prepare for my Lesson Nine chapter test.  4) I can brainstorm ideas for my weather project.

功课: 1) Complete Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Study for your oral exam on Thursday and chapter test on Friday.

程序:

  1. 1) Pass out Glogster handout, if interested.  2) Teach new characters (节, 节日, 汉语).  3) Simple Q/A with sample class schedule (你今天有什么课? 你第 # 节是什么课?).
  2. Writing practice.
  3. 1) Pair activity: practice conversation questions.  2) Q/A.  3) Showcase student work samples.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (10/16/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate compound vowels ai, ao, ei, ou, ie, and ia.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese terra cotta warriors in Xi’an.  3) I can read syllables fluently and accurately.  4) I can utilize website tools to help me learn Chinese.

Homework: 1) Review learned compound vowels.  2) WB pages 1 and 4.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Pass out Lesson Two text passages and supplementary materials handout.  2) Pass out supply and handout for Chinese Club art project.
  2. 1) Go over compound vowels ou, ia, and ie sections.  2) Dictation (ai, ao, ei).  3) Review textbook page 5 pinyin table and introduce YellowBridge website for flash cards.

3.   Read 6 syllables to Ms. Chang ó DVD: Terra Cotta Warriors.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (10/16/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) I can gain geographical, historical and cultural knowledge about China and major cities in China.

Homework: Signature slip due Thursday, 10/18.

Procedure:

1.   1) Makeup work (3P: Samuel, Adam).  2) Show Ms. Chang’s daily blog.  3) Complete Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.

2.   Pass out Pinyin handout.

3.   1) Pass out and go over China reading packet.  2) DVD: Introduction to China and Shanghai.
