Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (10/25/12)

目标: I can present my weather project orally.

功课: 1) Skit hard copy + checklist due tomorrow.  2) Prepare to present your weather project, if you have not done so.


  1. 1) The following students talk to Ms. Chang, please (莫薇芝, 柏莉雅, 李文敦, 李白丝, 谷特妮, 米嘉琳, 卡蕾秋, 麥珠莉, 乐迪恩, 倪德範, 史科礼, 乐芝蕾, 金泰德, 哈瑞宁).  2) Oral exam makeup (哈瑞宁, 金泰德, 柏莉雅, 李文敦, 史玖丹, 乐芝蕾, 倪德範).  Complete it by the end of this Friday.
  2. 1) Captains check WB pages 1 + 2.  Go over answer key. 2) Pass out Lesson One text passages.
  3. Weather project presentation.




Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (10/25/12)


Objectives: 1) I can discriminate various compound vowels.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences and text passages fluently.  3) I can introduce myself and others in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Quiz #6 (compound vowels #2 + reading 6 syllables from compound handouts): Monday, 11/5/12; Lesson Two chapter test + oral exam: Wednesday, 11/7/12.  2) Review learned syllables.  3) Practice reading text passages and pinyin sentences.


  1. 1) Teach compound vowels (un, uan).  2) Teach #7-#8 / Round robin read Review Sounds 1 packet (#1-#8).  3) Dictation (iao, uai, iu, ui).
  2. 1) Read text passages on pages 8-9.  2) Group activity: speaking practice: introduction oneself and others.



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (10/25/12)


Objectives: 1) I can say Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can recognize Chinese picture characters.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese paper cut.  4) I can explore Chinese folk art of paper cut.

Homework: Review learned terms.  Quiz #1: Monday, 10/29/12.


  1. 1) Return 8 characters writing assignment papers.  Makeup work (3P: Zeke, Jenny, Patrick, Aaron; 5P: Samantha, Nathaniel).  2) Quick review (22 terms + 8 picture characters).
  2. 1) DVD: Chinese paper cut.  2) Pass out and go over 2 Chinese paper cut patterns.
  3.  Class activity—cutting 2 paper patterns.  Collect for grades, if done.  Continue task, if not done today.
