Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (10/31/12)

目标: 1) I can express how well I do on a test.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation about class schedule.   3) I can express and explain my preferences of school subjects.  4) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit with a partner.

功课: 1) Complete character writing assignment.  2) Read text pages 7- top of 8.  3) Know all new characters by next Monday.  4) WB pages 9 (#1-#5) and 11 (#1-#5).  5)  Round robin reading text pages 1-2 on next Monday.

程序:

1.   1) Follow Halloween dress code, if you dress up today.  It needs to be appropriate, and not be disruptive to teaching and learning.  NO full face masks, nothing that could be considered a weapon, no “suggestive” or inappropriate clothing or offensive costumes will be permitted.  2) Dress something old and dark for tomorrow’s calligraphy lesson, please.    Work at senior lounge area tomorrow.  3) Starting from tomorrow, 11/1, no shorts are allowed for fall/winter.  Review page 34 of the Student Handbook.  4) (米嘉琳,卡蕾秋,倪德範, 史玖丹,李白丝) talk to Ms. Chang, please

2. 1) Teach new characters with terms (细, 胞, 细胞, 电脑 / 電腦, 脑子 / 腦子, 头脑 / 頭腦, 聪 / 聰, 聪 / 聰明, 考, 试, 考试, 大考, 小考, 口试, 笔试, 学期, 期中考, 期末考).  2) Skit presentation (史科礼, 甘博力, 史尊凯, 甘士凯, 史安敦, 乐迪恩, 李文敦, 越野, 金泰德, 哈瑞宁).  3) WB page 2 Q/A.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (10/31/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate various front nasal sounds.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences, syllables, and text passages.

Homework: 1) Study for your quiz #6 (compound vowel #2 + reading 6 syllables from compound vowels #1 & #2) on next Monday, 11/5/12, and Lesson Two chapter test on next Wednesday, 11/7/12.  2) Review learned front nasal sounds.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (2P) Dress something old and dark for tomorrow’s Chinese painting lesson, please.  2) Makeup work (2P: Steeley, Macy, Louis, Keaton, Suzu; 5P: Ahkien).  2) (7P) Return character writing assignment papers + quiz #5 papers. 3) Will draw a number for next quarter’s seat.
  2. 1) Captains check WB pages 11 & 13.  Go over answer key.  2) (2P) Listening activity: WB page 9.
  3. 1) Read text passages on pages 8-10.  2) Teach Review Sounds 1 handout sentences #13-#14.  3) Teach front nasal sounds (in, un, ün).  4) Class activity: Round robin reading Review Sounds 1 sentences #7-#14.
  4. Class activity: practice reading pinyin sentences + text passages + syllables ó Read 6 syllables (compound vowels handouts #1 + #2) to Ms. Chang.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (10/31/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say and write Chinese characters.  2) I can have hands-on experience on folding papers.

Homework: 1) Complete Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Review learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (3P: Jenny; 5P: Eric, Shaz).  2) Quick review (yi, er, san, si).  3) Teach new numbers / characters (wu, liu, qi, ba).
  2. Complete origami products.  .
