Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (10/29/12)

目标: 1) I can express and explain my preferences of school subjects.  2) I can present the skit that I created with my partner.

功课: 1) 写生字.  2) 唸 (nian4) 课文第1-2页(ye4).


  1. 1) Makeup work (乐芝蕾, 史玖丹, 史科礼; 苏丽雯, 史安敦, 乐迪恩).  Missing work (甘博力, 倪德範).  2) (金泰德, 哈瑞宁, 郑阳冬, 莫薇芝, 米嘉琳, 李白丝, 卡蕾秋, 希珍薇) talk to Ms. Chang, please.
  2. Captains check WB pages 3 & 5.  Go over answer key.
  3. 1) Teach characters (业, 作业 = 功课, 课业, 唉, 讨/討, 讨钱/討錢, 讨/討糖果, 厌/厭, 讨厌 / 討厭, 猜, 上一节 / 節, 下一节 / 節, 因为 / 為…所以).  2) Skit presentation.



Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (10/29/12)


Objectives: 1) I can sight read text passages, pinyin sentences and syllables fluently and accurately.  2) I can discriminate various front nasal sounds.

Homework: 1) Workbook pages 11 + 13.  2) Review learned nasal sounds.   


  1. 1) Turn in your Lesson Two character worksheet.  2) Makeup test (3P: Chase, Steeley, Suzu, Matt; 5P: Ahkien).  3) Ms. Chang e-mailed you last night an audio recording of Review Sounds 1 to help you prepare your speaking assessment in mid November.
  2. 1) Captains check WB pages 10 + 12.  Go over answer key.
  3. 1) Round robin read Compound Vowels (2) handout.  2) Pass out / go over Front Nasal Sound handout.  (an, en).  3) Teach Review Sounds 1 handout sentences #11-#12.
  4. 1) Chinese character animation (mountain, mouth, fish).  2) Class activity: practice reading pinyin sentences + text passages + syllables ó Read 6 syllables (compound vowels handouts #1 + #2) to Ms. Chang.




Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (10/29/12)


Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about daily routine in Chinese school through watching a video clip.  4) I can explore and have hands-on experience or folding papers.

Homework: 1) Complete your writing assignment.  2) Review learned terms.


  1. 1) Makeup work (5P: Samantha).  2) Pass out square papers.  3) Quiz #2: Monday, 11/5/12.
  2. 1) Teach number characters (yi, er, san, si).  2) DVD: Chinese school.
  3. 1) (3P) Quick review.  2) Quiz #1.  3) (5P) Prepare pin wheel.
