Procedures for 11/19/12

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (11/19/12)

目标: 1) I can polish my speaking and listening skills through questions/answers session.  2) I can enhance my reading skill through a high-level logical rearrangement activity.  3) I can talk about my school life.

功课: 1) Read text passages on page 16.  2) Complete speaking questions handout in class tomorrow.  3) Make a pair of question and answer sentences with term terms (意思, 多久了).

程序:

  1. 1) Retake review session: 6:50 am, Tuesday, 11/20/12.  Scheduled retake sessions: 6:50 am, Tuesday, 11/27/12.  Turn in your application form at the end of the class with your two activities specified.  Make sure you show Ms. Chang all your missed assignments before you are allowed to take your retake.  2) Please consider bringing non-perishable food items and $1 starting the week of 11/26-11/30.  The “donor of the day” will have a chance to win a gift card.  3) Makeup work (甘士凯, 倪德範).  4) Return skit papers.
  2. 1) Captains check unscrambled sentences worksheet + WB page 10.  Go over answer key to WB page 10 and unscrambled sentences.  2) Quick review (习 / 習, 学习 / 學習 = 学 / 學, 多少, 久, (有) 多久了, 很久了 = 好久了, 多, 不到, 左右, 流, 利, 老虎, 马马虎虎 / 馬馬虎虎 = 还可以 = 还好).  3) Q/A session.
  3. Teach terms (流行, 意, 思, 心意, 大意, 小意思, 什么意思, 课本, 行, 拿来, 拿去, 作业).
  4. 1) Pass out speaking questions handout.  2) Pair activity.  Q/A session.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (11/19/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple Chinese questions.  2) I can apply what I have learned to create a skit with a partner.

Homework: 1) Practice pinyin sentences #1-#9 and text passages on pages 24-25.  2) Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (2P: Steelley, Michael, Stephanie, Keaton, Amari; 7P: Connor, Jackson—3 reading assignments).  2) Captains checks WB pages 23-26.  3) Go over answer key.  4) Check your e-mail account tonight.  Ms. Chang will e-mail you the audio file for Review Sounds #2 handout today.
  2. 1) Teach pinyin sentences #7-#9.  2) Skit presentation.
  3. Pair activity: Conversation practice.  Q/A session with Ms. Chang.  3) Song time: 七八九 / Happy Birthday to You.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (11/19/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name colors in Chinese.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese housing, Chinese traditional clothes, Chinese silk, and Chinese colors.  3) I can utilize a website tool for my Chinese learning.  4) I can explore Tangram pieces.

Homework: 1) Complete your art project (due next Tuesday, 11/27/12).  2) Practice oral presentation sentences.

Procedure:

1.   1) Quick review (colors).  2) Makeup work (3P: Zeke; 5P: Miranda).  3) Practice reading sentences #1-#10.  4) Introduce website: www.mdbg.net to type pinyin or characters.   5) Quiz #4.

2.   1) Cultural reading:  Housing.  Traditional clothes, Chinese silk and Chinese colors.  2) Pass out / explore tangram pieces game.
