Procedures for 11/9/12

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (11/9/12)


目标: 1) I can prepare for my Lesson Two chapter test and oral exam.  2) I can sight read text passages fluently and accurately.   

功课: 1) Skit presentation: Thursday, 11/15/12.  2) Study for your oral exam (Monday & Tuesday) and chapter test (Wednesday).  3) 作业本第十页 w/dialogue slip.  


1.   1) Starting from next Monday, please bring in non-perishable food items for Yuletide Hunger program.  Donate $1 for raffle ticket.  2) Turn in your skit hard copy w/checklist.  3) Work and have oral exam in the Red Lab on next Monday and Tuesday, 11/12 and 11/13.  4) Makeup work (Stefan—text pages 1-2; your WB pages).  5) Will e-mail you answer key to WB pages 9-13 when you show me all your completed assignments.    

2.   1) Pass out / go over the study guide for Lesson One chapter test.  2) Round robin reading: text pages 3-5.   

3.   1) Class activity: oral exam practice Q/A.  2) Go over WB page 9.  3) Writing practice.

4.   Pass out dialogue slips.  Pair activity: 作业本第十页.  It is your homework, if not completed in class. 




Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (11/9/12)


Objectives: 1) I can identify and introduce people, state ages, and welcome people.  2) I can prepare for my oral exam.  3) I can sight read pinyin sentences accurately and fluently.  4) I can discriminate various back nasal sounds.  

Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions for Lesson Two oral exam on Tuesday and Wednesday, 11/13 and 11/14.  2) Practice sounding out pinyin sentences in Review Sounds 1 handout: Friday, 11/16/12.       


  1. 1) Makeup work (2P: Keaton, Amari, Suzu, Maisy—2 readings; 7P: Sean, Jackson, Andrew).  2) Any field trip slip?  3) All re-take will take place during E/I on Friday, 11/16/12.
  2. 1) Teach back nasal sounds (iong, weng).  2) Complete Review Sounds 1 handout: sentences #22-#24. 
  3. 1) Go over sample oral exam questions.  Oral exam practice.  Q/A session with Ms. Chang.  2) Round robin reading pinyin sentences #17-#24. 



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (11/9/12)


Objectives: 1) I can say my birthday and date in Chinese.  2) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  3) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project. 

Homework: Review number table for your quiz #3 on next Monday, 11/12/12. 


  1. 1) Art project due on Tuesday, 11/27/12.  Oral presentation due on Wednesday and Thursday, 11/28/12 and 11/29/12.  2) The 8th graders are having an assembly during EI today.  3) Review English date format and teach Chinese date format.  4) Teach terms (de, sheng ri, nian, yue, ri). 
  2. 1) Write sentence #5.  2) Read sentences #1-#5.  Collect draft #1.     

3.   Showcase more art project samples and pictures of art project.
