Procedures for 12/5/12

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (12/5/12)

目标: 1) I can prepare for my Lesson Two chapter test oral exam and written test.  2) I can create a story with key question words.  3) I can sight read sentences fluently and accurately.

功课: 1) Study for your oral exam.  2) Story draft due at the end of class period on Friday.

程序:

1.  1) Work in Red Lab center tomorrow and Friday.  Return papers.  2) Texting & Driving: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4HNOxmm5vg.  3) Scavenger Hunt.  Students who find all of the statistics posted around the school and fill out the sheet can be entered to win a free t-shirt with the campaign slogan.  Completed entries need to be turned into the cafeteria Thursday and Friday.  Sign pledge cards to not text and drive.  The cards will be posted throughout the cafeteria.  Students and staff will be entered to win a prize which will be distributed during lunch periods Thursday.

2.   1) E-mail Ms. Chang your first pen pal letter by the end of Friday.  2) Captains check WB pages 19 + 22.  Go over answer key.  3) Round robin reading: text pages 18-19.

3.   1) Pass out and go over study guide & story checklist.  3rd partner for your story this time.  2) Review (问题) with sample sentences.  3) Writing practice.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (12/5/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name school supplies.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately.  3) I can ask and answer questions to identify item and inquire about ownership.

Homework: 1) Write Chinese characters.  2) Practice conversation questions.  Know sounds of all new characters by tomorrow.  Will check your work tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return papers.  Exit slip: Stephanie, Steelley, Sammy.  2) Quick review (笔, 尺, 毛笔, 剪刀, 刀子).  3) Teach new characters (什么, 这, 那, 的, 谁的, 我的, 你的, 他的, 她的, 我们的, 你们的, 他们的, 她的, 吗).
  2. 1) Introduce sentence patterns.  2) Pass out / go over Conversation Sample Questions handout.
  3. Read 3 Pinyin sentences to Ms. Chang ó Pair activity: Conversation questions practice.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (12/5/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms.  2) I can acquire historical, geographical, and cultural knowledge about China and major cities in China.

Homework: 1) Signature slip due tomorrow.  2) Review 3 learned terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Any signature slip?  2) DVD: (5P only) Introduction to China / Beijing / Shanghai.
  2. Pair activity: Complete your reading packet.  Collect at the end of the class period.
  3. Pass out / teach 3 basic greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi).

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (12/4/12)

目标: 1) I can make terms with characters that I have learned.  2) I can comprehend dialogues and polish my listening skill with audio files.  3) I can sight read sentences fluently and accurately.

功课: 1) WB pages 19 + 22, if not done in class.  2) Round robin reading text pages 18-19 tomorrow.

程序:

  1. 1) Captains check WB pages 20 + 24.  Go over answer key.  2) Return pen pal letter.  3) Read text passages on pages 18-19.
  2. 1) Listening activity: WB page 23.  Go over answer key. 2) Listening activity: text pages 16-19.
  3. Pair activity: WB pages 19 + 22.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (12/4/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about school supplies.  2) I can acquire culture knowledge about Chinese names, courtesy in making introductions, birthday celebration traditions, and cultural taboos in China.  3) I can sight read pinyin sentences accurately and fluently.  4) I can sing happy birthday song in Chinese.

Homework: Know all learned characters by tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.   1) Teach Review Sounds2 handout sentences # 21-#22.  2) Culture reading:  Chinese Names; Courtesy in Making Introductions; Bow with hands Clasped; (7P) Taboos When Saying Good-bye w/exit slip.  4) (2P) Comparison among all lesson passages.  5) Pass out / Sing Happy Birthday Song.  3) DVD: Birthday celebration.     

2.   Read pinyin sentences to Ms. Chang ó 1) Pass out supplies bags / Practice conversation / Read 22 pinyin sentences.   .

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (12/4/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) I can gain geographical, historical and cultural knowledge about China and major cities in China.

Homework: 1) Signature slip due Thursday, 12/6.  2) Reading packet: due at the end of the class period tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.   1) Any signature slips?  2) Complete Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.

2.   1) Pass out and go over China reading packet.  2) Pass out Culture reading packet page 1.  3) (3P) DVD: Introduction to China and Beijing.

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (12/3/12)

目标: 1) I can talk about school life.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can sight read text passages fluently and accurately.

功课: WB pages 20 + 24.

程序:

1.   1) Honor and Merit Roll rosters have been posted outside of the Guidance and Main Offices.  Please check them for accuracy.  2) Turn in your pen pal letter draft.  3) Makeup work (柏莉雅, 苏丽雯, 倪德範, 甘士凯).  4) Captains check WB pages 18 + 21.  Go over answer key.

2.   1) Round robin reading: text pages 14-15.  2) Teach terms (做, 作文, 说话, 怎么, 什么时候).  3) Go over text pages 18-19.  4) Listening activity: audio file for text pages 14-15.

3   Conversation question practice.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (12/3/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can identify school supplies.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently and accurately.

Homework: 1) Write Chinese characters.  2) Read 3 sentences from Review Sounds 2 handout by Friday, 12/7/12.

Procedure:

1.   1) Captains check Lesson Five character definitions.  2)      Return test papers / character worksheet, etc.  3) Makeup work (2P: 柏汉娜, 黄可兒, 柏思科, 柏和德, 甘捷力, 莫力德, 安和丝).  4) Chinese Club activity: Friday, 12/14/12.  Give Ms. Chang your activity ideas.  5) Talk to Ms. Chang for retake form, please.

2.   1) Go over common writing mistakes (啊, 谢, 几).  2) Teach Review Sounds 2 sentences #19-#20.  3) Teach new characters (笔, 尺, 毛笔, 剪刀, 刀子).     

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (12/3/12)

 

Objectives: 1) I can complete my Student Inventory worksheet.  2) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.

Homework: N/A

Procedure:

1.   1) Sit on your assigned seat.  Get students’ team assignment information.  2) Show Ms. Chang’s daily routine / daily blog.

2.   Pass out, go over and fill in the Student Inventory.  Collect

3.   Pass out / go over Ms. Chang’s Classroom Rules and Grading Policy.
